Q: What is difference between dC 13.4 & 13S ?
A: What''s the difference between the David Clark H10-13S and the David Clark H10-13.4? There are just two differences:
Q: Do these come with fixed wing chord a plugs.
A: Yes, these headsets will have the Dual Plugs for Fixed Wing (GA) aviation.
Q: Does the warranty change based on the country you purchase from?
A: Hello, The 5-year Warranty is good for the unit, wherever you are located. Once you receive your purchase, be sure to register your item with David Clark. There will be warranty information inside the box.
Q: What year did David Clark start making the H10-13.4?
A: They do not list a production start year but we have been selling it for over 18 years.
Q: Where can I find the used ones I've seen advertised ?
A: Yes, we do offer Factory Refurbished / Pre-Owned headsets, they can be found here.
Q: Does H10-13.4 require batteries and if so, where are they located? Thanks.
A: Passive headsets, like the David Clark H10-13.4, do not require any batteries.
Q: I have these headset working with a Sigtronics 200 sport intercom in an open cockpit ultralight; comunications pilot-copilot are very noisy and would like to know in what way(s) this can be improved
A: The first place I would start is with a leather mic cover. This should eliminate a lot of the wind noise you pickup in an open cockpit environment and show considerable improvement. Make sure you have a leather cover on both / all headsets being used.
Q: How can I tell if I have a H10-13S model or the H10-13.4S model? The box has both stickers on it. There are 2 volume knobs, one on each ear?
A: If you have dual volume controls you have the H10-13S. It will also have a small switch that says S / M (Stereo / Mono).
Q: I have david clark h10-13.4 is there and way I can get a cord kit for helicopter and convert them
A: You can change the cords on the H10-13.4, but you can use the Fixed Wing to Helicopter Adapter to convert it to a single U-174/U plug for civilian helicopters.
Q: Good morning, I wanted to know if the headphones are sold with a bag. Best regards
A: No, these do not come with a bag, however we do sell the David Clark Headset Bag separately. We also have a wide variety of Headset Bags to choose from in addition to the David Clark model.
Q: Hi, I was wondering, if I'm using Cessna 172 and my ICS (kma24h 70/71) and comm/nav (kx155), will the H10-13.4 work?
A: Yes, the H10-13.4 will work with your avionics.
Q: Does the DC H10-13.4 have a 3.5 mm AUX jack that would allow Bluetooth enabling ?
A: No, it does not. In order to make the H10-13.4 Bluetooth capable, you would need the Blulink Adapter.
Q: I know it seems like overkill, but can this headset be used with my computer while gaming? I think they are just cool looking.
A: No, it cannot be used for gaming on its own. You would need to purchase the PC Flight Simulator Headset Adapter for the H10-13.4 to be able to plug into your computer. If you are not using this as a Pilot, and only for gaming, I would suggest the David Clark Computer Compatible Headset - USB plug or David Clark Computer Compatible Headset - 3.5mm plugs.
Q: Hi, can I use this model piper_28 warrior ? Or on a commercial airplanes ?, thanks
A: Yes, this can be used on any airplane with the standard dual plugs.
Q: Hello. Does this headset work in the 737?
A: Yes, this will work fine in the B737. It has the standard dual plugs that will fit in the jacks in the B737.
Q: I am looking for a headset and adapter combo that will best work on military helicopter as well as general aviation fixed wing aircraft. I prefer David Clarks or similar. Any suggestions?
A: You could go a couple of different routes. You could get this David Clark H10-13.4 and then get a High to Low Impedance Adapter. Or, you could get something like the David Clark H10-66 headset that is a unique dual impedance headset for use in civilian and military aircraft. With the H10-66 you would still need to convert from a single to dual plugs with this adapter to use it in a civilian fixed wing (not necessary for civilian helicopter).
Q: Is there an aerobatic H10 13.4 version.
A: No, there is not a model built specifically for aerobatics. There is just the H10-13.4 (mono, single volume control, airplanes), the H10-13S (stereo, dual volume controls, airplanes), the H10-13.4H for helicopters and the Youth H10-13.4.
Q: The David clark headset h10-13.4 do you sell the stereo or mono version?
A: We sell both the mono H10-13.4 with a single volume control and the stereo version H10-13S with dual volume controls.
Q: is there an adapter that allows you to use the headset on a computer (toshiba)
A: You can use the PC Flight Simulator Headset Adapter to connect any general aviation headset with the dual plugs (PJ-055 and PJ-068) - such as this one - to your home PC.
Q: I'll be using the headsets for use with Helium unscrambler Radios "Amron" and would like some more info. or Specs such as Frequency Reponse, Microphone, and amplifier assembly, so that I can make a comparison to see which one's would best work for my situation. I'm looking for Pnr types. I have High frequency lost both on my left and right so any help would be much appreciated.

Q: I am starting private flight school. Is it better to buy PNR or ANR headsets? Also, please explain what is pilot automatic shut off feature is that I see on some of the ANR headsets.
A:
This headset - the H10-13.4 - is the most popular pilot headset on the market. It offers great passive noise reduction, is lightweight, and very comfortable. And, it is backed by the excellent workmanship and service from David Clark. Deciding on either a passive or active noise reduction headset is really a personal choice. Most pilots - at some point - will eventually end up buying an ANR headset for themselves and using their original passive headset as a passenger headset. Personally, I used this exact headset for all of my private training and then bought the Lightspeed Zulu a couple of years ago. The H10-13.4 is still used today by my passengers. It really depends on how much you want to spend now while in training. If funds are limited, usually it's better to put the money towards lessons instead of fancy equipment.
Automatic shutoff is a feature found on many ANR headsets that will automatically turn the power off after a certain amount of time disconnected from the aircraft (or with the aircraft intercom off). Unlike passive headsets that do not require any batteries, all ANR headsets are powered either by batteries or - if hardwired - by the aircraft electrical system. The auto-shutoff feature is meant to save your batteries for those times when you forget to hit the power button after a flight.
Q: Can the h10-13.4 helicopter headset be converted to general aviation?
A: Sure. You can convert the H10-13H (helicopter) headset to be used in a fixed wing aircraft with the Helicopter to Fixed Wing Adapter. Or, you can convert from the H10-13.4 to a helicopter by using the Fixed Wing to Helicopter Adapter.
Q: Other than the plug type, what other technical differences are there between the H10-13.4 and the H10-13H.
A: There is no difference. The H10-13H is the helicopter variant of David Clark's H10-13.4 headset.
Q: Is there an adapter to allow cell phone use with the H10-13.4
A: We currently offer the Pilot USA BluLink Cell Phone to Aviation Headset Adapter and the AVCOMM Headset to Cell Phone Adapter.
Q: How long are the cable hook ups that are included.
A: This headset has a 5 foot straight cord connection.
Q: Is the comm connection a 1 or 2 plug type? Thanx
A: This uses the two standard plugs (PJ-055 and PJ-068). The helicopter model H10-13H uses a single plug.
Q: How quickly will you ship an H10-13.4 if I order one?
A: If your order is placed before 3 PM Pacific Standard Time to go to a US address it will ship out the same business day.
Q: I fly a noisy open cockpit airplane with quite a bit of wind in the cockpit. Will I be able to transmit clearly with this mic?
A: The M-7A microphone is one of the best noise-cancelling mics available, so I would say that you shouldn't have any sort of problem. It may be situational due to the open cockpit, so if it does not work out you can return the headset within 30 days of the date that you receive it.
Q: What is the dB attenuation of the headset?
A: It is listed at 23dB.
Q: I'm flying in Germany in a local aviation club. Do the plugs of the H10-13.4 also fit in germany registered SEP acft such as Cessna, Piper etc? thx. much axel
A: Yes, it will work fine. The plugs on headsets and aircraft are standard around the world.
Q: Do either the H10-13.4 or the H10-13S headsets have DUAL volume controls?
A: The H10-13.4 (mono) has a single volume control. The H10-13S (stereo) has dual volume controls.
Q: I am considering buying the H10-13.4 b/c it seems like a proven model. As a new student pilot (still interviewing instructors) I'm not clear on the importance/meaning of TSO, Passive, ANR and DNR. Please clear this up for me. Also, how can I be assured that the jacks will fit the airplane? Is there a standard for a two jack setup?
A: The H10-13.4 is a headset we would definitely recommend as someone starting out in flight training and many pilots fly with it for years after. A headset being TSO-certified means that it has undergone extra testing by the FAA and is really only important if you will be flying for a company that requires TSO certification. ANR (active noise reduction) headsets have additional electronic noise cancellation features while passive headsets rely on the fit of the ear seals for their noise cancellation. As far as the connection, most fixed-wing aircraft have the standard two-plug configuration.
Q: I have one of these headsets, not sure if it has been modified. My cord has 2 connections to hook up to my radio adapter. Is this the way it comes?
A: Yes, it comes with two male plugs (PJ-055 and PJ-068).
Q: What is the date code on the headsets you are now selling? I am concerned about my 5yr warantee.
A: The five year warranty starts on the date that you receive your headset. You simply use your sales receipt as a proof of purchase.
Q: what is the impedence of the Mic
A: This has a high impedance mic, 50 ohms +/- 20%.
Q: I am just starting flight school. What are the pros/cons of stereo vs. mono headsets? Thanks.
A: The stereo headsets are the exact same as the mono version in most cases. The ONLY time there will be any difference is when you are connected to a stereo music source (such as a CD or XM Radio) and then it will provide stereo music separation in each ear. For communication within the cockpit or to ATC (Air Traffic Control) there is no difference at all.
Q: I was wondering if this headset came with a bag for it. Thanks.
A: This headset does not come with a bag. There is a David Clark Headset Bag available for separate purchase, and there are also many other headset bags available.
Q: Doesn't the little mic foam covers come with the headset? Does the cloth Gel seal covers?
A: This headset includes the Gel Ear Seals and the foam mic cover (which can also be purchased separate). It does not, however, include the cloth ear covers.
Q: I am looking at the David Clark H10-13.4 Stereo Headset. Is this headset for helicopters? I don't want to add an adapter.
A: For a helicopter, you would need the David Clark H10-13H Headset found here.
Q: Is this the stereo version? If not do you sell the stereo version?
A: The stereo version of this headset is available as the H10-13S.
Q: Is the mic voice activated on the H10-13.4?
A: Yes, it is voice activated.
Q: Can this headset be used with a cell phone. THX
A: This headset does not have a cell phone interface built in, however you can use the Safety Cell Headset to Cell Phone Adapter with it to interface it with a cell phone.
Q: Can I order it with the coiled cord and with the Helicopter plug in?
A:
It sounds like you are looking for the helicopter version of this headset, which is the H10-13H.
Q: does the H10-13.4 have anr?
A: The H10-13.4 is a passive noise reduction headset. It does not have any Active Noise Reduction (ANR).
Q: Those David Clark H10-13.4 Headset you sell - are they new or used, or brand new ($289.95)?
A: We only sell brand new products unless they are specifically listed as refurbished.
Q: Does this headset have the cables required for hook-up to the aircraft radio and intercom system or are those extra?
A: Yes, all the cables are included.
Q: My son is starting college at OSU he is in the pilot program. What headset do you recomend and is there a student discount?
A: This headset, the H10-13.4, is the most popular passive headset in the world. It's the headset that I personally bought just a few hours after starting my private pilot license and the headset that I used for 11 years after that. It's now the headset that my girlfriend uses and still going strong after more than a decade. Highly recommended.
Q: Hi, i would like to ask what is the PTT david clark model suitable for H10-13.4 headset and how much?thanks a lot. regards, joel b
A: Any of the PTTs will work fine. David Clark makes their own PTT (most expensive) or you can get the ASA, FlightCom, or PA will work fine. You can find the PTTs here: https://www.mypilotstore.com/MyPilotStore/secp/138
