Great headset

  • By Jim from Los Angeles, CA on Tuesday, May 24, 2022
  • Pros: Size, quality, robustness
  • Review: The best headset I can think of for moving plane to plane. It folds up better and stores easily, is built tougher than the competitors and has comfort at or above their levels. The speaker sound quality is on-par with competitors, although noise cancelling at certain frequencies is not quite as good as come; better than some others. The control box is better built and easier to operate than Bose or Lightspeed, both of which I use frequently.

Great headset!

  • By David from Teaneck NJ USA on Sunday, May 22, 2022
  • Pros: Comfortable, made in USA, great noise isolation and cancellation
  • Review: This headset is super comfortable. The big ear cups provide really good passive noise isolation which isn't affected by the arms of my glasses. Noise cancellation is good also. The controls are a little fiddly. I'd rather have switches than buttons for things like Bluetooth. I have to hold the power on/off button down for a couple seconds until I see a light to confirm it's on, then hold the bluetooth button down for a couple of seconds, wait for it to connect, and then push it once more to switch to the other priority mode. I'd rather just push one thing and get on with the rest of my preflight.

  • By PA28 pilot from Eustis FL USA on Thursday, March 31, 2022

  • Review: Can't believe the difference that a quality headset makes. Clearer reception and easy to operate. well worth the money.

Very comfortable. Very clear audio.

  • By Riccochet from Alaska on Tuesday, January 25, 2022
  • Pros: Sound quality is very clear. Very small profile. Folds up nice and petite while traveling. Quality build.
  • Review: I love this headset. I've had it a year and a half and have flown it about 700 hours, still looks new. I’d actually give it 4.5 stars but, I wouldn’t give any of the other ANR headsets a better rating and I’ve used them all. Reason: It doesn’t power off automatically if you forget, but neither do the lite Speed or Bose. It stores very petite for easy carrying. The clarity is the best I've experienced in any headset. It is not bulky in the slightest and I could even pull my hoody over it while flying in the Arctic. Very satisfied and now my first choice in headsets.

Fantastic, worth the cost of entry

  • By Tristan from Slidell LA USA on Monday, August 02, 2021
  • Pros: Comfortable to wear, ANR is very effective, easy to use
  • Review: Previously had a Lightspeed Tango wireless and it was good, but had some issues switching between planes. Sold it to purchase this headset, have used it for about 20 hours now and love it. Comfortable, the ANR is great, haven't had any compatibility issues with different aircraft, and I like the ease of use with regular AA batteries.

Better than Bose & Zulu

  • By Jonathan from Jacksonville FL on Monday, May 17, 2021
  • Pros:
  • Review: I tried Bose, Zulu, and DC one-x; DC one-x was definitely my favorite & the one i kept. I would recommend over the others for sure. I have a fairly thin head; DC one-x fit better than bose & was more comfortable than Zulu. I thought noise cancellation was almost equivalent but slightly better in DC, however, it was way quieter than Bose with noise cancellation turned off. Bose was very loud when noise cancellation was off compared to DC one-x. I love this headset, would buy again, and recommend over any competitors for sure.

4 QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

  • Previously Asked Questions

  • Tuesday, February 28, 2023

Q: Does the One-X mute your music when radio calls come in?

A: Yes, that is the default behavior but it can be controlled based on your preference:
The Bluetooth  wireless technology feature allows you to listen to your  favorite music when paired with cell phones, MP3, tablets, or other  compatible devices. When listening to music briefly pressing the Bluetooth  button will enable/disable muting:
Flashing blue (default): When receiving transmission from ATC or intercom, music will mute to prioritize communication. Once transmission  is completed, music audio will gradually return to the previously set  volume level. A falling two-tone chime is heard when entering this mode.
Flashing purple: Music will not mute when transmission is received from ATC or intercom. A rising two-tone chime is heard when entering this mode.
Each time the DC ONE-X is powered ''ON'', setting reverts to default (muting) mode.
