Q: Airbus 220 recommendations
A: For the Airbus, select option 4: XLR5 for Airbus.
Q: I want to buy. But I dont know which one is suitable for Boeing 737. Which model should I buy?
A: You would want option 1: Fixed Wing Portable. That will work in all Boeing civilian aircraft.
Q: Is the 5XLR Airbus w/Bluetooth panel powered or do you still need the AA batteries?
A: If the Airbus panel is wired to provide power through the 5th pin, the headset will be powered through the aircraft and does not require batteries (though one can still put batteries in). However, there are many airlines that use the 5 pin XLR configuration where they have not provided power to the fifth pin. In those cases, batteries will be required.
Q: I've seen the A20 Aviation Headset (Bluetooth) with fixed wing 2 cable setup sold with both a coiled cord and straight cord. Which version does this ship with?
A: For the dual plugs, the A20 with Bluetooth is only available with a straight cord. It is option 1: Battery Powered, Straight Cord, for fixed wing aircraft (dual plugs) (Bose 324843-3020)
If you want the dual plugs and coil cord, that is only made in a non-Bluetooth option. You can find the Bose A20 without Bluetooth here. The dual plug coiled cord is option 7.
Q: 327070-T030 is what model ?
A: 327070-T030 is a cable assembly only (no headset included). The 327070-T030 is an A20 Cable with Bluetooth, Coiled Cord, and U-174 plug for helicopters.
If you are looking for the headset with that same cable, the part number is 324843-T030 and it is option 5 on this page. Helicopter Coiled Cord.
Q: Operation manual for boss a20 aviation headset
Q: Where may I purchase new "ear cups" for my Bose A20 headsets? I've had mine for about 3 to 4 years and the ear cups are beginning to deteriorate and come apart.
A: You can order the Bose A20 Ear Cushions online here or call us toll-free at 877-314-7575.
Q: Hi can i purchase the A20 with a plug for the airbus? is it battery powered, or aircraft powered? bluetooth? thnks
A: To get the Bose A20 with the XLR plug for Airbus, you would need to purchase the Bose A20 Headset without a cable assembly and then purchase the Bose A20 Cable Assembly with Bluetooth - Straight Cord, XLR Connector for Airbus. It is a 67" cable that includes an electret microphone with a Bluetooth control module. No batteries required and it is also FAA TSO'ed.
Q: With the fixed wing 2 cable setup, do you need batteries for ANR to work or would being plugged into the comm system power ANR?
A: Yes, two AA batteries would be required. The batteries will power the ANR system as well as the Bluetooth system.
Q: Does the helicopter version have a coiled cord?
A: No, Bose no longer makes any headset with a coiled cord. On their old model (the Bose X) they did offer a coiled cord version, but when they introduced the Bose A20 they only offer straight cord for everything. The helicopter version is a straight cord with a single U-174/U plug.
Q: I am planning to buy Bose A20 with blue tooth. I want the ability to use in aircraft with dual plugs as well as with Redel connector. Can you recommend how should I proceed?
A: If you want to be able to use it with both panel powered (Redel) and non-powered (dual plugs), we would recommend that you get the Bose A20 headset that is panel powered and the Bose A20 6-pin Redel to Fixed Wing Adapter. This allows you to use it in a panel powered aircraft without any adapters and then when you are using it in an aircraft that does not have a Redel connector, you just need to add the adapter and AA batteries to the battery box.
Q: description states that it meets/exceeds TSO certification; but ARE they TSO certified? My airline requires TSO certification.
A: Yes, these ARE FAA C-139 TSO Certified and acceptable for use in all USA based airlines.
Q: Is the A20 compatible with my Blackberry Bluetooth cell phone?
A: Any mobile phone enabled with Bluetooth technology will work via Bluetooth connectivity.
Q: Is there an adaptor for your A20 set so that I can use the set for Helecopter flying as well as fixed wing plane flying?
A: Sure! If you get the fixed wing model of the Bose A20, then you would need the Fixed Wing to Helicopter adapter. If you get the Helicopter version of the Bose A20, then you would need the Helicopter to Fixed Wing adapter. The other option would be to get a second cable assembly for the Bose A20. We have the Bose A20 Fixed Wing cable assembly and the Bose A20 Helicopter cable assembly.
Q: I'm thinking of getting the Redel connector version of the A20 w/bluetooth and buying a 2-plug adapter at the same time to have the greatest range of connection options. As the Redel version is aircraft powered and the 2-plug battery powered will I lose functionality if I use the Redel version via adapter in a 2-plug aircraft? I'm assuming the Redel version does not have batteries at all so must get power from the Redel connector...which I'm assuming it won't get when plugging into a 2-plug setup. Could be a dumb question but if you could clear it up for me I'd appreciate it. I'd hate to buy the Redel version only to find out that noise cancellation won't work if I go into a 2-plug airplane. Thanks.
A: All of the Bose A20 headsets, including the panel powered version (Redel connector) have a battery box. The battery box on the panel powered version is only used to power the bluetooth functionality and the power for the ANR comes from the aircraft electrical system. If you purchase the panel powered A20 headset and the Bose A20 6-pin Redel to Fixed Wing Adapter you will be able to use the A20 in an aircraft equipped with the Redel connector and then, using the adapter, use it in an aircraft with the standard dual plugs. When you use it with the adapter, the batteries will power both the bluetooth and the ANR functionality.
Q: Can I listen to my MP3 player wirelessly via Bluetooth?
A: No, the Bluetooth mobile phone connectivity is for communications only. You can, however, plug your MP3 player into the AUX jack to hear your music.
Q: This may be a dumb Q, but will the headset and mic work when not connected to the airplane, i.e., can I talk on my phone via bluetooth when I want to exit the plane and stay on my call?
A: Not a dumb question at all. Yes, you can use this outside of an aircraft to talk on a cell phone as long as there are batteries installed.
