Works well

  • By James from Monroe GA USA on Wednesday, February 22, 2017
  • Pros: Compact, light, comfortable
  • Cons: Bright blinking lights, Carry case too small but works.
  • Review: Worked well but could use improvement. The Bluetooth feature when activated blinks with no way to dim it, very annoying as I fly primarily at night. A simpler way to dim the power light would be nice, why does the power and bluetooth lights have to be so bright? (Maybe an old fashioned slide switch for power?) Also, a steady on light (very dim) would be nice because blinking lights in the cockpit are a bad thing that need attention! (good rule: never get used to flashing lights in the cockpit) The carry case works but over time the cord will suffer from having to be bent and stuffed repeatedly.

Excellent Headset!

  • By Braiden from Maricopa AZ USA on Friday, November 10, 2017
  • Pros: Sturdy construction, excellent ANR/ music quality, lightweight, small footprint, etc.
  • Cons: Cords seem a little short at times (depending on plane model).
  • Review: I was pleasantly surprised by the build quality and packaging of the DC One X. The construction seems very sturdy and all of the components are great quality. I have used the headset for approximately 100 hours now and am very pleased with its performance. The BE-99 is the loudest plane I have ever flown by far (due to poor sealing around the crew door right next to my head), and this headset takes care of the noise very well. The music quality is pretty awesome, and the ability to turn off the automatic muting is much appreciated. I have only had to change the batteries once over the 100 hours and the second set is still going strong. The included control box clip is a very nice add! Highly recommended headset!

Great headset!

  • By David from Teaneck NJ USA on Sunday, May 22, 2022
  • Pros: Comfortable, made in USA, great noise isolation and cancellation
  • Cons: Fiddly controls
  • Review: This headset is super comfortable. The big ear cups provide really good passive noise isolation which isn't affected by the arms of my glasses. Noise cancellation is good also. The controls are a little fiddly. I'd rather have switches than buttons for things like Bluetooth. I have to hold the power on/off button down for a couple seconds until I see a light to confirm it's on, then hold the bluetooth button down for a couple of seconds, wait for it to connect, and then push it once more to switch to the other priority mode. I'd rather just push one thing and get on with the rest of my preflight.

Nice

  • By Gregory from Le Claire IA USA on Saturday, November 03, 2018
  • Pros: Good quality
  • Cons: Battery box
  • Review: Good David Clark quality.
    Hate the battery box.
Was using a Bose QC15 with a U Fly Mike prior to this.
No battery box plus half the price.
Use it in both a Citation X and a C172.
