Pros: Lighter feel (even though they might not be), more comfortable ear cups, better audio quality than the A20s
Cons: Thinner wire tends to wrap on itself
Review:
I'm a relatively low time pilot and been flying with the A20s with BT, and upgraded to the A30s. The first thing I noticed was that they feel less bulky on the head, and as other reviewers have said, the pressure from the new headband is much less. The microphone quality is definitely better (based on how my GoPro recordings sound)

I will definitely upgrade to the A30 from the A20
By Dean

Pros: More comfortable fit, Selective ANR settings, less clamping force, more comfortable head pad. Smaller case is a plus as well.
Cons: I really do not have any cons to about this headset. Bose did a nice job with the new features.
Review:
I currently use the Bose A20 headset. These A30 headsets are definitely a step up. I used them on a trip to London in the B777. The 3 position ANR noise reduction is a nice feature. Allows you to hear what is going on around you if you select the lowest noise reduction level. The best feature is the double-tap noise reduction. You can tap on either side, Left or Right and the noise reduction on that side reduces allowing you to hear conversations without having to move the headset off your ear. The headset overall felt more comfortable that the A20. I like the padded head pad rather than the furry pad. There are many settings in the battery compartment as well. In finishing the case is smaller than the A20, not a big deal but noticeable. If you are thinking of upgrading from the A20 you will not be disappointed.

Bose A30 they got it right
By James Werner
from Cave Creek
on Tuesday, March 28, 2023
Pros: Light weight, Digital, noise canceling, new feature tap control to talk through.
Cons: none
Review:
This head set is great, I already have the Bose A20 and Proflight series. This head set met my expectation and more. The Bose A30 was light and didn't feel like it was squeezing your head. I am an airline pilot and wore this head set on my last 4 day trip. It was very comfortable, light weight, the sound was very clear, and the Bluetooth feature was great too. I would recommend this to any commercial or general Aviation pilot. I give this product a 5 star

Forgot I even had a headset on….

Pros: Comfortable and lightweight
Cons:
Review:
If you decide to buy this headset, make sure to write yourself a note that reminds you it’s still on your head before you get out of the plane. I’ve tried several headsets, cheap… expensive, and this one seems to have it all but most importantly I can wear this for HOURS, with no fatigue.

Classic Bose high audio performer!
By Tony the Sundowner student
from Chandler AZ
on Monday, March 27, 2023
Pros: Light, compact and comfortable
Cons: A lot of plastic components
Review:
The Bose A30 was light on my ears and very comfortable. The 3 noise reduction settings allowed me to talk to my instructor on the low setting without the intercom while the high setting was extremely quiet while in the air with headsets, intercom and ATC. I also found the mic squelch to be smooth to the point I never noticed the mic open or close.

Review:
Finally a solution to the useless intercom that no one uses on loud, legacy Boeing aircraft! The three levels of noise cancellation and the Tap Control for talk-through communications are everything I'd hoped they would be. Nice job Bose. My only complaint, albeit minor, would be to make the headband cushions larger and more comfortable.

The Bose A-30 is everything that I expected it to be. Lightweight, low clamping force but still fits snug, great sound quality and noise cancelling. It's worth every penny!

Pros: Exceed expectation

I am enjoying my new A30. There is a lot of improvement from my former A20. I like the quietness, the battery-case holder (for hanging), the lightweight.

Bose A30 nice but not a good upgrade from A20
By Dale
from Scottsdale, AZ
on Friday, April 21, 2023
Pros: high quality headset
Cons: hot a significant upgrade from A20
Review:
I love the quality of my A20 and thought I would give the A30 a try. While it is lighter than the A20, it was hard to notice while wearing them. Also, to me the sound was a little tinnier than the 20 and there was a slight hiss when talking. All in all it is a high quality headset, but I just didn't think it was a worthwhile upgrade from the A20.
Hope this helps

Very long cord and excess packaging
By A Customer
from Georgetown, TX
on Wednesday, April 05, 2023
Pros: Good build quality, excellent ANR.
Cons: Very long cord, way too much packaging
Review:
Headset itself is as advertised. Nicely finished, good ANR and function. For some reason, the cord on the GA two-plug version is about 18" longer than that on the A20. Just more cord jumble to sort out in the cockpit.
The packaging is awful. Box inside a box inside a box. The second-level box cannot be opened; it must be surgically removed.
I still have no idea of the purpose of the rubber keeper for the control module.

Extremely Comfortable
By A Customer
from Scottsdale, AZ
on Monday, March 27, 2023
Pros: Great headset, quality is nice. I really like how they cleaned up the wires.
Cons: The noise cancelation will start tripping out when the door or window is open on the ground. Once the doors are shut and I'm out flying, I don't notice this issue anymore.
Review:
The headset is super lightweight and comfortable on my head. The less clamping force is a huge plus compared to the A20, I don't even notice the headset is on after 5 minutes. I don't really use the different level of noise cancelations, but it's a nice feature for when the engine isn't running.

Good headset but not as good as A20
By Carl the Seneca Pilot
from Long Beach, CA
on Thursday, December 14, 2023
Pros: Nice design and construction
Cons: Sound quality not as good as A20
Review:
I bought one of these when my A20 quit. While the design and built of the A30 is quite good, the audio quality is not quite as good as the A20, particularly if you are pumping in music through the intercom. Oddly, the bluetooth sound quality is excellent, but somehow the analog electronics degrade the audio quality of music coming in through the headphone jack. The sound is tinny, with rolled off highs, and no bass. I did a side by side comparison with my wife's A20, and the A20 is by far better. Also, the three levels of noise cancelling are a little silly. I can't imagine ever using anything but "high". If you can get an A20, it is a better headset, at a better price.

Review:
I think I'm being generous at three stars. The Bose A20's are night and day better over all. I fly a range single and multiengine airplanes and R22, R44, and B206 helicopters. The A20's are much better and handling windy cockpit environments and overhead vents that blow on the anti-noise ports. Open windows in a 172 picking up pressure pulsations from the prop making a very annoying popping noise. The A20's are night and day better in a BE95 TravelAir. About the only time these are equal to the A20's in are sterile cockpits like a TBM. The second I find a decent LEMO A20 that I'm sure isn't stolen, the A30's are going away.
