Q: What is the difference between the H10-20 and the H10-13h?
A: The H10-20 is for use in general aviation fixed wing aircraft. The H10-13H is for use in helicopters.
Q: Are these a passive headset, do they take batteries?
A: This is a passive headset, no battery required.
Q: HELLO, Is the part number of this model, the 1250-7G-29?
A:
The manufacturer part number for the H10-20 is 40074G-01. Older models did have the same you are looking for: 12507G-29.
Q: What is the difference between these and the H10-13.4
A:
The H10-20 is slightly heavier due to the materials being used but it also offers slightly more noise reduction. Both headsets are very well build and made to last a long time.
Q: Hello, What does the term Passive mean in regards to a headset? Thank you.
A: ANR (active noise reduction) headsets have additional electronic noise cancellation features while passive headsets rely only on the fit and seal created around your ears, via the ear seals, for their noise cancellation. Passive headsets contain no electronic components to reduce cabin sounds and are not battery powered.
Q: A friend has a pair of H10-20 headsets. What set would be compatible with them if one were to purchase 2 more to be used in a Cessna Skylane and a 172? Why so many different models? Is one better than the other?
A: Just about any fixed wing headset will work in the Cessna 172 along with the H10-20 that you already have. As you have found, there are many different models available and the choices can certainly get overwhelming! Generally speaking, the higher the price the better noise reduction and more features you will get. Based on your note, it sounds like you need a fairly basic model that will just allow you to communicate while flying with your friend. My recommendation would be to save a bit of money and go with a couple sets of the ASA HS-1A headset. It's an inexpensive headset that still does a very good job and is comfortable to wear. To make it even more comfortable, I would recommend adding the Gel Ear Seals. They will make all the difference! The double headset bag might also be a good idea.
Q: I have a H10-20 Headset P/N 12507G-29. I have them since about 1990, is noise canceling still adequate?
A: Yes, they should still have good passive noise reduction. The best thing you can do to imporve / insure noise reduction is to get a new pair of Gel Ear Seals. After time, these break down and become less effective at keeping the noise out.
Q: Can you adapt an H10-20 to use in a helicopter also?
A: Yes you can use the Standard Fixed Wing Headset to Helicopter Adapter. With this adapter you will be able to use it in a helicopter.
Q: Does your h10-20 headset come with a warranty?
A: Yes, all David Clark Headsets have a full five (5) year warranty.
Q: Will this headset (dual plugs) fit all fixed wing aircraft (a Piper Archer or Cessna 172)?
A: Yes, it will fit any general aviation fixed wing aircraft with the standard dual plugs.
Q: I am a student pilot. Will this work with a Cessna 172?
A: Yes, this is a Fixed Wing headset that will work in a Cessna 172.
Q: how much do they weigh?
A: The H10-20 headset weighs 21 ounces.
