I had to Youtube how best to replace the pads but it turned out to be easy with no tools required -- just a little fiddly. Problem solved and as an added bonus, they feel better and are quieter (because they are squished down as much as the old ones).

I just had the my headset repaired. When they came back I was delighted with improvements that was made to them.
I'm getting along in age and my hearing isn't what it use to be be. The repaired set has made a huge improvement over the older set. I feel more confident to work with the ATC's again. I only wish the ear cushions were a little softer.

Q: What are the diffences between the replacement Bose A20 headset cushions ($29.95) & Bose Aviation X headset cushions ($19.95)??
A: The Bose Aviation X Headset Replacement Ear Cushions will only fit the Bose X Headset. This ear cushion (Bose A20 Headset Ear Cushions) will only fit the Bose A20 Headset. The Bose A20 is the new model that was introduced in July 2010. The Bose X is the previous model that shipped for the 10 years prior to the introduction of the A20 model.
