IFR Instrument Hood

IFR Hoods or View Limiting Devices are used by pilots during flight training to simulate flying in the clouds or in poor visibility. It restricts their view so the student can only see the flight instruments, forcing them to fly without any external references to the ground or horizon. Some hoods are actually hoods worn over your head like the Jiffyhood. Most Instrument Hoods are worn like you would wear glasses. Some even allow you to wear prescription glasses under the IFR Hood.

We offer a full catalog of products for IFR, including ant IFR Training tools, accessories, reference cards and pocket guides.
