Q: Do you have the helicopter study guide and not the airplane ...
A: The ASA Private Pilot Test Prep Book will cover helicopter as well as a number of other aircraft types.
Q: Which book do I need to purchase to have the example/exhibits for the test?
A: It sounds like what you are looking for is the FAA Airman Knowlege Testing Supplement - Sport, Private, & Recreational Pilot. This is the same book issued during the FAA Knowledge Exams at the computer testing centers. These "figures books" are exactly as released by the FAA, with all charts reproduced in full color.
Q: Do you sell a Private Pilot Glider specific written test specific sample tests?
A: If you need the Private Pilot Glider Rating, you would want to get the ASA Private Pilot Test Prep Book. The Gleim book only covers the airplane rating. The ASA book covers airplane, helicopter, gyroplane, glider, free balloon and airship.
Q: After studying the material, taking the quizes and the final test and passing them, what do I need to present to the FAA testing center to be able to test. There used to be a certificate you sent off to Gleim; is that still in the materials?
A: With the test guide, you will need to get a local CFI to sign-off before you to take the knowledge exam with the FAA. However, with the private pilot test prep software, you can do it yourself. After installing the software, click the "Performance" menu and then "Instructor Sign-Off Forms". If you have successfully answered all of the questions at least once, select Print from the sign-off screen's toolbar to print the form. Take the sign-off to your computer test site as authorization to take your test. It does NOT have to be signed by Dr. Gleim or anyone else.
Q: Do you have a plastic E6B
A: You can find all of our Flight Computers here. We have metal, heavy cardboard, and electronic types.
Q: Today,s date is January 2, 2009. I want to know if this book will cover the questions and answers as of this date? If not, do you have the most current one?
A: Yes, this is the most current edition and covers the test currently being administered by FAA testing centers.
Q: Quick question. Does this book have the actual questions that will be on the FAA private pilot exam? meaning does the questions match the same verbatem?
A: Yes, these are the exact same questions and answers that you will find at the FAA testing center when taking the actual exam. It includes the entire FAA question bank for the private pilot fixed wing exam (950+ questions).
Q: How many questions are there in the book? What categories are there in the book? I used to have a FAA Private Pilot Practice Exam Book, 999 questions of previous test questions and I used this material to prep for the FAA Exam, I did well. I have lost the book and wonder if this book is the same or similar?
A: This has the entire FAA question bank of approximately 1000 questions. They are broken out into the same knowledge areas that you will find on the actual FAA exam.
Q: Are the test questions effective from July 2007 on, since the previous book covered through June 30th, or is it for tests taken in 2008? My son will be taking the test within the month. Thanks so much.
A: The questions are current as of August 2008.
