Good communications are essential to a successful flight. This convenient switch mounts to the yoke with a hook-and-loop strap, allowing pilots to use their thumb to push the button and communicate with ATC, Unicom, or other aircraft. This eliminates the distraction of picking up the microphone, for hands-free communications that keeps pilots focused on flying the aircraft. Particularly useful for rental aircraft, which typically might not have push-to-talk switches installed.

Q: I have a icom A5 hand held transceiver, will this work with my radio?
A: You will want to get the Icom Push-To-Talk instead.
Q: My aircraft has an audio panel with a built in intercom (Garmin 340). When plugged into the panel mounted mic jack, will this PTT allow transmission over the intercom without keying the PTT switch?
A: If your intercom has a voice-activated VOX circuit that allows you to talk to passengers and them to talk to you without broadcasting on the radio, then the ASA PTT switch should work. Pushing the push-to-talk button should then cut you out of the intercom (with passengers or with your entertainment system) and switch you into the radio for transmission.
