Q: Can I convert this headset for GA using the David Clark coil cord assembly, dual plug, 40602G-01. If so, which microphone will I need to replace the stock mic with?
A: The David Clark 40602G-01 cord will attach to the power block but you will still need to convert the microphone to a high impedance one. Therefore, I would recommend the Low to High Impedance Adapter instead which will convert the plugs and the impedance with one adapter.
Q: Could you possibly confirm the passive noise attenuation rating of the H10-76XL headset, when the ENC is switched off/inactive?
A: The Certified Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) for the passive headset is 24 dB.
Q: Can you convert H10-76XL to GA use?
A: Sure! We have put together the H10-76 Conversion Kit which will work for you.
Q: I was given one of these headsets, is their a way to convert it to use GA aircraft?
A: Sure! We have put together an H10-76 Conversion Kit which will work for you.
Q: What are the differences between the H10-76XL and the H10-66XL? Which is the better headset?
A: The H10-76(XL) headset is a low impedance headset that is the most popular US military headset. The H10-66(XL) is a good choice if you need to be able to switch between low and high impedance (it has a select switch on the dome). The H10-76LX has the option of being battery powered or permanently mounted. The H10-76XL is also a lighter headset (18 ounces compared to 24 ounces for the H10-66XL).
Q: Can this be used for civil helis out of the box or do you need anything
A: No, this is a military headset. For a civilian helicopter, I would recommend something like the David Clark H10-56HXL Headset instead.
Q: I would like to use my headset in civil helicopters. Which mic do you recommand?
A: You will need the 1142-22 Electret Mic found by visiting: https://www.mypilotstore.com/mypilotstore/sep/2162
