This is the largest program I have seen in 40 years of using computers. Good luck trying to get help from Microsoft in a timely manner for help.

• Review: Ok…I did it…was patiently waiting to purchase MSFS 2020 for at least a year. It’s been over a year and I recently purchased the 10 DVD set of MSFS. Also I’ve been biding my time ordering a new Dell XPS desktop in preparation for MSFS. I was excited because I read all the articles that MSFS will be able to do..Super excited. So I knew I had to order a high end system…and I did.
  DellXPS Desktop Computer along with a 32 in. curved Dell monitor..Windows ..11th Gen Intel R core[TM]…i7-11700@2.50Hz..2.50GHz..64 GB of installed RAM...64 bit operating system..with a Intel[R] UHD Graphics 750…now I ask is that a great computer or what??..so I’m charged up and couldn’t wait to install MSFS…or so I thought.
  As usual I say a little prayer before I push open the DVD tray and start the installation…1st disc in….oh God…nothing is happening ..then it starts loading and asking questions and I’m starting to pin my Junior Pilot Wings clip on my shirt courtesy of Southwest Airlines…waiting …please load another disc…yes!..ok….waiting..please load another disc…yes!...so this went on for about a good 45 minutes with disc 10 loaded and ..it’s done..MSFS is in my super computer…now what??
  Where is the icon for MSFS??...not on desktop!!oh no!!..all right. Don’t panic. I tell myself…I’ll find the MSFS folder and launch it from there…ok…CLICK…waiting…waiting…something is happening…small circle circling….
  Then…Please Insert Disc 1….what??..is this MSFS 2020??..or did I just load FS9…oh well…so I insert Disc 1…more spinning wheel…I’m getting anxious…spinning…….spinning…then the unbelievable happens…a feared box pops up…..”Computer does not meet the minimum requirements to run this program”… How in the world can that be with all that’s installed on my new computer? This little box just took all my hopes and expectations right out of my mind. How can something like this happen with a computer having well above the minimum settings to run this game. The rest of the warning window said some of the game’s functions may not run…or something like that.
  Needless to say my hopes of MSFS went from 100 to 10…so I continued to load MSFS…and all sorts of unrecognizable MSFS pictures came up with great looking graphics…..planes…etc…almost too much to take in…ok…don’t panic…just click on “Free Flight” and choose a plane and fly…wait….where’s the free flight option??nowhere to be seen…Discover World Flight??..that must be it….ok…I’m loading my flight and…great...I’m on the runway and I notice I’m viewing a 3d cockpit…ok…I’ll just choose my preferred 2d cockpit…where is it?? Find out there is no 2d panel in MSFS…more bad news…so I tried to fly and was just so exhausted dealing with the 3d panel along with little windows on the left and right and a terrible spot plane option…I just gave up. Very sad... and after all the time I waited for this release of MSFS it wasn’t anything like I imagined. However, I’ve been hooked on Microsoft’s Flight Simulators since 1995. I love the simulation.
  I closed MSFS for now and will leave it on my “minimum requirement” computer and am patiently waiting for upgrades that include a 2d panel. I also love reading PCPilot magazine and am a long time subscriber. It keeps me informed on Flight Sim issues I’m interested in and has some great articles . But…I think I represent a lot of “simmers” out there that realize although FSX and MSFS 2020 seem incredibly real they are just a simulation which allows guys like me to actually think I could fly these aircraft …visiting various countries…airports..etc..That’s what I enjoy doing…love doing.. for hours at a time. I also admit I daydream like I know many simmers do that one day while on a real flight on a passenger jet the flight attendant will come to me and say… the co-pilot and captain have food poisoning…can you help us??...or the way I would like it happen would be… Leslie Neilsen [Dr Rumack] would approach me and say..”Can you fly this plane?”…I would say..”Surely you must be kidding.”. And of course he’d respond...”I’m not kidding…and don’t call me Shirley.”….sorry. Had to get that one in.
  So…what is my point in writing this lengthy letters. Well…I guess to thank MSFS 2020 for a great simulation but I wish it could have been much much more user friendly for guys like me who just like to pretend they are flying jetliners. Taking off…landing…pulling up to the gate…etc.. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that some MSFS programmers are reading this. I’m patiently waiting for more upgrades. Including a 2dpanel and better Spot Plane options. So for now I’ve loaded up FSX in my high end computer and am happily flying different jetliners all over the US ...Europe and Asia with FPS set to “unlimited” and getting well over 100 FPS. I’m happy.

• Review: So disappointed..Discs #7 & 8 were scratched (they were not in their 'pockets' when I opened the box) which cancelled the installation & I have to either download (already had the download version purchased) or new DVD set. My internet is too slow or would've used my Online/Steam license/purchase. I need at least DVD discs 7 & 8 or no-go/show-stopper until get a new set.
