Neat little radio!!

  • By "Pulse 190" Jumper. from Williamstown N.J. on Sunday, May 26, 2019
  • Pros: small, but not too small, good range and reception, battery lasts a long time.
  • Review: I don't fly, I'm a jumper. I LOVE THIS RADIO!! I't's easy to use, comes in clear enough to hear/understand, and is very versatile!! I can listen to an A.M. station 1 minute, and listen to a jump pilot in a Caravan the next! All with minimum fuss!! How cool is that? My pilot/grandson keeps borrowing it and "forgets" to return it. What does that tell you?? Buy it as a back up, you'll love it!!

scanner

  • By Robert from Aiken SC USA on Monday, October 22, 2018
  • Pros: size
  • Review: This thing is very hard to figure out. I try to follow the instructions, but they are quite difficult for me to handle. So far I have gotten the weather, which was helpful when Florence was approaching, but I have not figured out how to go from there anywhere else in band selection. That is why I give it only three stars. When I get it useful I am sure it will rise in my estimation.

Q: I'm a new ppg pilot and for a radio to plug in my headset to moniter air traffic and to talk with others on the ground or air to air without a license.

A: Instead of a scanner, you would want to get a Transceiver which offers two-way communication.  Let us know if you need any assistance deciding on a model.
