Go by the hardware store and scratch up / paint some safety glasses.

  • By Ryan from Okemos MI USA on Tuesday, June 03, 2014
  • Pros: Nothing
  • Review: These were a bit of a disappointment. Based on the Foggles I was using previously I was expecting a little bit more. The quality is pretty mediocre and they don't actually obscure your vision very much at all.

If you are looking at this product I'd recommend just going by the hardware store and scratching up or painting some safety glasses.

Very comfortable

  • By Gary V from Kennesaw GA USA on Monday, January 09, 2012
  • Pros:
  • Review: I have them on for 2+ hours at a time sometimes...does not bother me a bit...a lot better than those huge visor 'hoods'

Kinda Bulky

  • By Christopher from Richmond TX USA on Tuesday, September 07, 2010
  • Pros: Easy to put on, Adjustable arms are great.
  • Review: I use these for helicopter IFR training so you can bet there is lots of noise in the cabin. They slip on very easy. I can probably have them on in 5 secs, so that decreases the time that you have to divert away from the controls and instruments. I don't like their bullky arms that are around the area of your temple. I use a David Clark headset and the arms are so thick it allows the aircraft noise to seep through the seal....and I have noise canceling head phones. If the arms could be trimmed down, they would earn 5 stars

Not the best Quality but gets the job done

  • By Zach from Traverse City MI USA on Thursday, October 09, 2008
  • Pros: Easy to use
  • Review: Much better than using a hood, easy to put on/take off during flight but the fogged area scratches off easily

Worked great!

  • By Randy from New Braunfels TX USA on Thursday, August 14, 2008
  • Pros: Worked as planned.
  • Review: Took first IFR lesson today "under the hood". These did block the vast majority of my view, and were comfortable. Served there purpose well.

Marginal

  • By Mark - Bonanza pillot from Oklahoma on Monday, September 10, 2007
  • Pros: Light and comfortable
  • Review: I found that they did not obscure peripheral vision to my satisfaction. I was also bothered when using them in sunny conditions. When sun hits them, it creates significant adverse effect on vision. I used another type called the Francis IFR Hood the next day and found them much better.
