NOTE: If you are building a Brightline Bag from scratch, we recommend that you go through our exclusive Brightline FLEX System Builder to streamline the process.

The Brightline Rear End Cap conveniently zips onto the back side of any module; with the exception of the Brightline Rear Bag. It is intended to mimic the storage of the Rear Bag. This component is perfect for finishing off exposed bare ends or center sections!

This Rear End Cap offers the two flat storage pockets on the outside and one flat, half-height, slip pocket on the inner surface.

  • The primary outer pocket is accessed from the top and has a cover flap that is secured with Velcro
  • Another flat half-height panel on the outside surface of the first pocket has a zipper across the very bottom.
  • A third flat half-height slip pocket is on the inner surface and has a cover flap secured with a spot of Velcro.

Dimensions:

  • 13.5" x 10.5”.

Component Restrictions and Notes:

  • The Rear End Cap is intended for use ONLY as part of a Brightline FLEX System. It will NOT work with the Original Brightline Bag.
  • The Rear End Cap is not intended to be carried by itself without anything connected to its front surface.
  • To carry the Rear End Cap by itself, make sure you have a Front End Cap or Front Bag within your FLEX System. By doing so, you instantly get the advantage of a complete and professional look and the extra storage that comes with the addition of the either.

Something's wrong with my copy

  • By A Customer from Ashland OR USA on Tuesday, October 13, 2015
  • Pros: Makes the other Brightline bags more versatile
  • Review: I love these products. I have several pieces and love them. However, this one, which I will return for an exchange, is flawed -- it's sewn together such that the firm piece inside is crooked. When I zip it on to one of my other bags for which it is intended, this piece does not fit squarely, but rather shifted about 5 degrees counter clockwise. I'm hoping that the one I got is simply a 'bad' one from the lot.

Good product but...

  • By Eric from Spring Hill TN USA on Thursday, November 20, 2014
  • Pros: Flexibility, adaptability
  • Review: I got the rear flat cap to go with my Brightline bag set, as a way to make a smaller bag for day flights. It works great for that; with just the front unit and the rear flat cap, I've got something light enough to carry my flight essentials when I just don't need anything bigger. I really like the Brightline bag set for its flexibility. I've got versions now for day flights (front + flat back), overnight (front + 4" back), and 2-3 nights (front, 10" center unit, 4" back), and changing from one to another is a breeze with their zipper system.

But I was mildly disappointed with the new configuration of pockets on the flat back. My 4" back has a side zipper pocket made just for my logbook. The new flat back removed that size zipper pocket and added a silly zipper at the *bottom* of the outside slip pocket. Why would anyone want a zipper at the bottom of a pocket that already has access at the top?

Lacks in utilitarian value

  • By Naren from Olathe KS USA on Monday, November 10, 2014
  • Pros: Good module town for re-configuring bag-size
  • Review: The end-cap module does give a finished look, but lacks somewhat in its utility value. Because of the design it is a little difficult to zip on to the bag and its fit is too snug, making it difficult to use the storage pocket.

Another useful Brightline product

  • By Samuel from Farmington MI USA on Monday, August 13, 2012
  • Pros: Size, convenience, organization, etc., etc., etc.
  • Review: I bought the Brightline B10 Classic but found it bigger than what I really need inside the airplane for my short VFR training flights. I bought this back cover so I could leave the back half of the B10 in the car/FBO but still have the pockets for my checklists and the like to take on the plane. Works great and I'm completely happy and impressed. "School" books stay in the back half and my inflight stuff stays with me in the plane. Also, the back half of the B10 has a strap at the top that can be used as a handle so there isn't any need to buy an additional carry handle. Well thought out product.

  • Pros: Makes the other Brightline bags more versatile
  • Cons: I miss the zippered side pocket, but like the new zipper at the bottom, used to slide the bag onto a roller bag.
