The Cockpit Top Gun G-1 Leather Jacket Overview:

Since 1938 the G-1 flight jacket has been regulation issue gear to pilots of the United States Navy. The G-1 is also worn by members of the USMC and US Coast Guard. This leather flight jacket has been worn by Navy and Marine Corps flight crews during the most heroic air battles in history. 

This unique vintage Top Gun jacket is crafted out of antiqued lambskin, hand cut and sewn and aged to perfection.  Tailored to early 60s specifications with light russet colored antiqued mouton collar and special vintage treatment giving it a patina and look of a jacket having seen many hours of wear back in the day. Complete with knit waist band and cuffs, early Mil. Spec. pattern and featuring one inside snap closed pocket, 2 outside button patch pockets with pen, pencil, protractor pocket under the left pocket flap. The jacket is sized to vintage specs and runs slightly snug. So if you want to have a more full fitting jacket you should order one size up. Otherwise if you want a movie star look wear the jacket snugly over a white T-shirt and jeans and you are ready to hop on your motorcycle and drive down to the Naval Air Station and suit up for a hop in your F-14 Tomcat. This jacket, made of 100% Military Spec lambskin, features:

• US Navy pattern
• A variety of naval patches, including a special 9" x 11.5" pieced leather blood chit on the jacket's back (the red stripes, blue field, and anchor are individual pieces of leather sewn onto the leather chit).

• A genuine silky lambs wool shearling mouton fur collar like the WWII era jackets (instead of the current government spec synthetic acrylic collar)
• Knit cuffs and waistband
• Top entry front flap pockets
• Full zip front wind flap
• Under arm grommets
• An inside chest pocket with nylon lining

The jacket's shell is made from soft and supple antique lambskin leather, which feels like an old friend from day one. The antique lambskin will further distress the more you wear it, giving you that desirable "battle worn" look and adding even more character to the jacket.

Sizes:
This full cut jacket runs true to size (no need to upsize for more room). The sizes are standard men's coat sizes.  Generally speaking, Small is 38-40, Medium is 40-42, Large is 42-44, and XL is 46-48, and XXL is 50-52.

For an accurate measurement, you'll need a flexible tape measure (inches) and someone to help you place and read the measuring tape.  Measure the biggest circumference around the chest and keep the measuring tape horizontal, wrap around the biggest girth of the chest, keeping the measuring tape up and close to the arm pits.
