The Van Heusen Pilot shirt is based on the Air Force dress uniform shirt in 65% wrinkle free polyester and 35% combed cotton. It features epaulets, mitered bellow pockets with pencil slot, eyelets above left pocket for name badge or wings and double button cuffs on the long sleeve.

- Review: Well, I bought these shirts 15 years ago and they seemed to fit pretty good but now I am older with a fatter neck, the rest of the shirt just hangs off of me and the pockets are down around the top of my belly the sleeves come down past my elbow in a short sleeve style And overall just looks sloppy. I wish I could leave a good review because the price was great, but this will be my back up shirt only in case of emergency. I bought the tapered fit and they still had about 6 inches too much fabric around the belly.

Recently I purchased the same size shirt I have been wearing for many years. After receiving them I tried one before opening the others, it fits as I would expect. I washed all the shirts before going out on a trip. To my unpleasant surprise, I found they had shrunk.
The shirts shrank in a normal wash and dry by about a half size forcing me to purchase the next half size up. They too shark but to the size I require. The shirts are nice, could have a bit more taper for a truly fitted shirt. I give the shirt 3 stars for the shrinkage and the lack of a true tapper expected from a fitted shirt.

A: Dry cleaning is not necessary. Machine wash warm, gentle cycle with like colors. Only non-chlorine bleach when needed. Tumble dry, iron medium.
