The Stratus ESG with WAAS GPS was designed with non-glass panel aircraft in mind. This simplified solution includes a 1090 extended squitter (ES) transponder and certified WAAS GPS in the same box. It’s truly an all-in-one box solution for 2020 compliance. Designed with the common 1.65? tall form factor, it’s an easy replacement for your existing transponder. Stratus ESG is a solid state transmitter that provides 310 watts nominal power output. Its modern keypad makes entering a squawk code easy. The convenient VFR button minimizes pilot keystrokes.

Q: What types of altitude encoders work with Stratus ESG?
A: The altitude encoder must meet the performance requirements of TSO-C88 (a or b). Serial altitude encoders must have Trimble/Garmin or Shadin/RMS protocol. Most parallel grey code encoders will work with Stratus ES/ESG. Most ACK and Trans-Cal encoders will also work, but their capabilities depend on the model.

Q: Apparently the monitor pictured is an iPad. Does the system require an Apple or will Non-apple pads such as Samsung, etc. connect without issues?
A: Stratus works with a variety of aviation apps on both on iOS and Android. Stratus supports the GDL 90 protocol for weather, GPS, traffic, and attitude (some features are only compatible with ForeFlight). Supported apps included ForeFlight, Garmin Pilot, WingX, iFlyGPS, FltPlan Go, FlyQ, Airmate, AvPlan EFB, Aerovie, Xavion, Stratus Horizon Pro, SkyDemon, OzRunways, and NAVIATOR.
