Q: Does this need batteries when connected to an XLR5 jack?
A: Power is provided by most aircraft when using the 5-pin XLR connector (11-30 VDC). Please note not all aircraft with XLR-5 connector provide power at pin 5 of the XLR plug. The batteries provided with the headset are only required when no power is available at pin 5, or when the headset is disconnected from the aircraft panel.
Q: Does this Headset and XLR plug work on the Boeing 777?
A: No, this is the XLR5 for Airbus only. You would want to look at the David Clark Pro-X2 ANR Headset which utilizes the general aviation fixed wing dual plugs.
