Q: Can the bare wire carry location and destination info to Trio Autopilot?
A: Yes, the aera 660 bare wire harness provides dual RS-232 serial ports, and the Trio EZ Pilot autopilot is a known compatible device. You would configure one of the aera 660''s serial ports to output NMEA/Aviation data, which will carry GPS location and course guidance information to the Trio autopilot. Note that the connection is one-way from the aera 660 to the autopilot.
Q: Will the 660 function with out a remote GPS antenna?
A: Yes, it will function without an antenna. If you are looking for an external antenna for better GPS reception that can be found here.
Q: Is the aera 660 mount - bare wire the same as my aera 510 mount?
A: No. The bare wire kit for the Garmin aera 510 can be found here.
Q: Can the 660 be coupled to a Dynon 180 and a trutrak II autopilot like the garmin 496 can?
A: Yes, the Garmin aera 660 can be coupled to both the Dynon 180 and the Trutrak II.
