- Pros: Easy and simple way to connect my IC-A4 to my headset.
- Review: Good product, but... 1. I have occationally had problems with bad contact in the connectors. It is possible to move the jack inside the plug. This seems to be due to the placement of the connection surfaces inside the plug. Maybe something to look into and possibly improve? I would gladly pay a little more to get better quality plugs! 2. Nowhere in the description of this product can I find any explanation for the extra small plug attached to it. Due to my previous knowledge of similar products, I was able to deduct that this was ment for a push to talk plug. 3. Ref the previous point, I miss a simple diagram and an explanation of the different possibilities of this product enclosed with it, or in the online description.

Q: What is the side tone function on this adapter and how does it work? Also, is there any additional items that I will need for it to work?
A: The side tone function is a hardware feature that allows you to hear your own voice through your headset while you are transmitting on your radio. There is no external switch, software menu, or digital toggle to disable or enable it, it is always on.

Q: Will this work with my a24 instead of a opc-499 ??
A: No, this will not work on the IC-A24. Instead you would need the Headset adapter for ICOM, A3, A22, A6, A24, and A14.
