  • Review: When I was 16, my mentor AJ wore a Citizen with a slide-rule bezel. Every time he gave us a chewing out, my eyes were glued to that watch. From then on, Citizen craftsmanship became the standard for me, a brand I respected even more than the high-end luxury names heavy on aviation marketing.
Fast forward 15 years to age 31. The exact day I paid off my Ram 5500, I walked into Macy’s to mark the milestone. I didn't have a specific model in mind, but one piece immediately called to me: the Citizen Promaster Skyhawk A-T Blue Angels Edition. As a licensed A&P mechanic who used to live with friends from the VFA-31 "Tomcatters" squadron at NAS Oceana, the Blue Angels tie-in and aviation DNA made it feel like pure fate. Scoring it at an unbeatable price below wholesale was just the cherry on top. Waking up, looking over the dashboard of my paid-off truck, and seeing this piece on my wrist feels like coming full circle from the "School of Hard Knocks" to right where I belong. Laura from Epix aviation, thanks in advance for the training on the twin Pratt and Whitney Beechcraft.
