Nice features, comfortable by Tim from Aurora CO USA
Pros: comfortable, clear, crisp communications Cons: battery pack and carrying case Review: This is a very comfortable headset used on 757/767 transcons. Mike is extremely crisp, good noise cancellation. I am not real thrilled about buying batteries but it allows me to use it in an environment where the interphone is not typically used. I would prefer a more protective bag/stowage utility case, this is a daily user, soft side will not last.

Excellent Aviation Headset by Christopher Harrison from UK
Pros: Very clear, lightweight Cons: longish wire so can get trapped in windscreen Review: Absolutely brilliant headset for todays modern airliner - I fly a B737 and it works perfectly. It is amazing flying the low cost route everyday in and out of Europe (UK based) and listening to the many different accents and how clear they now are.

Recommended Sennheiser Active Noise Headset HMEC 25KA (S) by A Customer from Edinburgh . Great Britain
Pros: As in review Cons: As in review and no set of batteries included. Review: This headset is my first owned headset. After many recommendations I decided to purchase this Sennheiser active noise headset. And I really enjoy flying with it. It stays clean, works extremely well, is light and the sound quality (receive and talk) is excellent. The only drawback is that the batteries run out after about 15 hours without any indication other that the active noise quitting. Hopefully someone will upgrade it with a battery level indication, rather that on/off.
The difference between active noise on or off is huge. Everything just becomes quiet and you find yourself turning down the volume knobs! Great product, true value for money! There is no real point, flying wise, to buy the (S)tereo version. That's just there if you want to use your headset on MP3 players or something like that.

Review: First of all, I ordered this headset to replace my old General Aviation HME100 Sennheiser that I had for over 5 years. I fly a jet that can be noisy especially in the descents. This headset, although small, has a very good noise cancellation. I really like this brand for the durability of their products. Their headsets are tough! This headset is very light, the sound is good and clear. The microphone doesn't have to be to close to the mouth to work well. The headband that splits in 2 is a very good feature that removes any possible pressure points on the head. I did 2 four-day trips with one set of batteries, which is pretty good... I couldn't try the stereo feature of the headset since the airplane I fly doesn't have stereo communications.
On a negative side, I can feel some pressure points coming from the ear cups, especially when wearing sunglasses, I am guessing it is because the headset is new. Hopefully it will get better. Also, the battery pack cover doesn't stay in place very well. It looks weak and I am afraid it could break very easily. It is an engineering problem more than anything. Overall, I am very happy with this headset and would recommend it for someone flying turbo-props or loud jets. It would even work well in a twin piston.

Better than my Daivd Clarks by A Customer from Honolulu, HI
Pros: comfortable, light-weight Cons: short cord Review: This is a very good and comfortable product. I gave this product a 4 because it is lightweight and comfortable. I value comfort most when it comes to evaluating aviation headsets. Two drawbacks are 1. it has a short cord 2. the plastic case is not durable. I own both the David Clark noise cancellation headset and now this Sennheiser and I would recommend the Sennheiser headset.

Pros: FAA/RTCA approved, Lightweight, comfortable, excellent sound quality in/out Cons: Battery life could be better, easily fixed with NiMh rechargables. Review: My use is solely on long haul International flying (747)
(1) Battery life - very good, approx 30 hours with Duracell's, I am considering high capacity NiMh (2500's) to possibly extend usage between battery changes.
(2) Weight and comfort - Extremely light weight and because of the multiple adjustment points it can be worn without causing pressure points or discomfort on long flights (12+ hours)
(3) Sound Quality - Exceptional, works well with the com panel and because of the Stereo function I can reduce the sound levels to the inside ear for easier cockpit communications in all phases of flight.
(4) Noise cancelation - Very good, because of the passive and active cancelation you get significant reductions in wind noise without reducing critical feedback sounds like engines or other cockpit related tones/warnings/alarms.
(5) Microphone - Exceptional sound quality, With the large foam cover it really sharpens your transmitions. Excellent quality during HF and VHF calls.
(6)Dual TSO/RTCA compliance sheets - The FAA is cracking down on approved use of "non" TSO'd headsets, this one comes completely certified and approved for use in 121 operations. No worries about getting a nasty-gram from the Chief Pilot when using this headset.
(7)Compact - Easily compacts in the included storage bag. (8" x 8" x 2.5")
(8)Reduced fatigue - With the reduction in noise, longer days/flights seem to end with less fatigue.
(9)Great for deadhead travel - When used with a jack reducer you can listen in stereo to MP3's. Turn on the noise cancelation for maximum effectiveness on the long legs when riding in the back.
(10) LED power indicator - Green when "ON" and when you have a full battery charge, gradually changes to yellow, amber and red as the battery life is reduced. Once amber you have about 5 hours of battery life remaining.
(11) Passive reduction after battery dies - Continues to work perfectly especially at reducing noise in the cockpit despite no ANR. No worries of missing a call because of dead battery's.
Suggestions:
-Order the 2 sets of fabric socks that cover the earphones.
-NiMh rechargeable battery set, make sure the charger has 120-250VAC capability for charging without voltage converters
-Jack reducer for MP3 Listening on your PC/MP3 player
