Excellent compact SMA Airband antenna

- Pros: Fine performance on Airband listening, compact and well made
- Review: This helical rubber duck antenna is a great performer on Airband! It comes standard with the Yaesu Spirit VXA-710 transceiver but is available by itself here. At 7.5" versus 15" it is only half the length of the Diamond SRH77CA but works noticably better on Airband. I know this because I spent hours and hours swapping these two antennas between my Airband scanner (IC-R5) and the Yaesu while listening to Newark air traffic. Please note that I limit my comments to Airband only. The Diamond antenna is optimized for 2m/144MHz which may explain the surprising difference in performance given the difference in length and the Diamond's excellent reputation.

A: No, this will not work with the Vertex VXA-300. For the Vertex VXA-300 you will need the Vertex ATV-10 Antenna found here.

Q: Is this good for VXA 720?
A: No, the Yaesu FTA-720 uses a BNC antenna instead of SMA that was used on the VXA-700 / VXA-710. For the Yeasu FTA-720 you will need the Yaesu YHA-74 BNC Antenna.
