- Review: Power quadrant controls work very well; switches and buttons program easily in X-Plane. Ailerons are precise and center consistently, but are limited in range (+/- 45 degrees) vs. the +/- 90 degrees on a real control yoke. As a result, roll response is overly sensitive on some GA aircraft and needs to be detuned in the joystick settings. Pitch response is pretty good, but it does not recenter in the same position consistently. The yoke mount is poorly designed and requires a table or desk with a 1 inch lip. I had to clamp mine onto a piece of scrap countertop granite. Works okay except when flaring for a landing, which causes the whole assembly to slide backwards. A yoke case which is flat on the bottom and equipped with suction cups, along with a softer pitch spring might work.

- Cons: If I were designing it I would’ve put the throttle on the outside instead of near the middle I have to lean forward in order to put my hand on the throttle. And the throttle is the control most used.

Q: how and what can you mount this yoke to? My son has a standard desk with a center draw on it.
A: This yoke is best mounted on a desk with a bit of a thicker lip, although you can put a board or something similar in there to assist in the clamping. You also need a bit of room on the desk itself to fit the length of the yoke.

Q: can you explain how the box will mount to a desk? Actually, I would like to mount it underneath a shelf board on which I have my flatscreen monitor mounted.
A: The clamps are a two-part system that offer a very wide opening and easy tightening via a screw that should accommodate most sizes of desks. Flipping the controller over, you can screw in the ends of the clamps into the provided holes in preparation for mounting on your desk. The rubber feet ensure that the controller won't slide around once clamped into position.
