We discovered this wonderful product years ago, when my dad was confined to a wheelchair & using public restrooms was complicated by needing his wife or daughter to assist him in the process. The travel-john can be used while seated in the wheelchair or standing up. It can be used behind a vehicle door to give a measure of privacy. For men, this is a very simple process, since they don't even need to stand up. For women it is a bit more complicated but still more convenient than needing assistance in a public restroom.
On long-distance road trips, it is much more convenient to stop NOW to relieve yourself hidden by the car door, rather than have to wait for the next exit or comfort station and HOPE that one finds a facility that is functioning AND clean!

Q: I read the questions above but still wonder -- does the shelf life apply for leaving these in the car in the HOT SOUTH? Car temps get really high and sometimes I don't drive anywhere for a few days. So do I need to carry them in and out or still ok to leave them in a hot car? thanks!
A: There shouldn't be any problem with high heat as long as you do not leave the Travel John under direct sunlight. They actually say that the product absorbs better in warmer temperatures.
