These amazingly detailed do-it-yourself models start out as a four inch square steel sheet. After you follow the detailed instructions, it turns into an attractive 3D model of the Republic P-47 Thunderbolt WWII Fighter.

The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt served as a high-altitude escort fighter and a low-level fighter-bomber for the allied forces during World War II. It was the largest, heaviest, and most expensive fighter aircraft in history to be powered by a single piston engine. The plane was designed and built around its powerful 2000 horse power Pratt and Whitney radial engine. Due to its thick and massive appearance, it came to be known as ‘The Jug.’

Model is approximately 5.3" long when completed.  These models require patience and attention to detail, but are a fun project for anyone that loves aviation.   Use the easy to follow instructions to pop out the pieces, bend the tabs, and connect them at the attachment points.

  • Pros: Parts are pre painted
  • Review: The parts are so small that they are almost impossible to handle/shape. Virtually no two parts fit and when I was able to assemble them, they were not secure.
