Trig TT21 Mode S ADS-B capable Transponder Remote Unit Overview:

The TT21’s innovative design saves both space and weight while delivering certified performance. The Trig TT21 remote unit is uniquely useful to GRT Horizon HXr EFIS users because it is able interface with the EFIS remotely, eliminating the need for a separate control head on the instrument panel. This supplement is designed to help you connect the transponder to the Horizon HXr display unit and program it to allow optimal performance of both units.(Head Unit, not included).

Mode S technology makes you visible to ATC, commercial and military traffic. Trig transponders are ADS-B Out capable, (with a suitable GPS - sold separately) meeting the latest FAA certification standard for ADS-B known as TSO-C166b.

*Customers in the U.S. should be aware that the FAA, Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) 91.227, requires that a compliant ADS-B Out solution use a Class 1 transponder in U.S. controlled airspace. The Trig TT22 is a Class 1 device and meets this requirement. This Trig TT21 is a Class 2 device and does not meet this regulation. The FAA has stated that Class 1 transponders must be used to be 2020 compliant in U.S. controlled airspace. For this reason, it is recommended that the Trig TT22 remote unit be used to meet the mandate's requirements.
