- Review: This pitot tube cover is not the best quality, but it certainly meets the need of protecting the pitot tube. The main plastic portion is pliable enough in most temperature ranges. My only real complaint is that the bond between the "remove before flight" streamer and the plastic boot is not good. The streamer fell off of mine the second time I removed the boot, but I was able to repair with epoxy resin.
