Exactly what i was looking for.

  • By A Customer from Gilbert AZ USA on Tuesday, August 26, 2014
  • Pros: comfortable and organised
  • Cons: None
  • Review: I was provided with a kneeboard from my training organisation but this was big and got in the way and with nowhere to store it in the planes we were flying, i looked to this kneeboard to solve the problem. Since having this, everything has remained organised and comfortable in the cockpit.
The only thing that was slightly annoying but at no fault of the product was that an iPad air which i owned already is only about 5mm too big to fit into the side pocket. iPad mini is fine but i didn't have one but thats not a big deal as it clearly wasn't designed for it. Overall a very good kneeboard and i have recommended it to other students on my course.

Great Kneeboard

  • By MICHAEL from BALLWIN MO USA on Friday, October 16, 2009
  • Pros: size, organization, price
  • Cons: elastic straps
  • Review: For those who like a few more 'things' readily available, this works well without taking up too much more space. The flaps hang down and out of the way while not in use, but are there when needed. In addition to the notepad, active charts, approach plates, checklists, etc. all have a spot for the active leg of the flight eliminating the need to access the flight bag for everything. A little concerned that the elastic/velcro straps will not last the life of the product.

  • Pros: Professional looking, well made product.

  • Review: Very well made product and extremely useful. Highly recommend for just about anyone whether flying VFR or IFR. I use it to hold my aircraft checklist as well as some cheat sheets for the days flight. Nice looking product too.

I would buy this product again

  • By John from Roswell NM USA on Wednesday, November 3, 2010
  • Pros: Light weight, strong material, good straps, holds a thick note pad.
  • Cons: none that I know of
  • Review: Just what I neded after my previous kneeboard straps stretched out of shape. I am an old fashioned pilot that writes down the ATIS, the clearance and all frequency and altitude changes. Kneeboard holds s few items that I like to have with me and has met and exceeded my expectations.

More than just for pilots

  • By Chris from Ames, IA on Saturday, October 31, 2009
  • Pros: Lots of space for what I use it for.
  • Cons: Slides down when standing up and walking.
  • Review: I took ground school while in the USAF when I was assigned to Osan AB, ROK. That was when I really learned about kneeboards. Fast forward to now. I drive a forklift all day long, a sit down forklift. This thing is great. VFR, IFR, doesn't matter. A small notepad fits great in the clipboard, the clipboard comes right out, and the pockets are great for putting whatever in them. I use them for putting thnigs like pallet tickets that I need to e-mail other departments about. I use the clear pouch for that. On the other side, that I just use to put notes or whatever in. Not at all what it was designed for, but it works great as a portable desk. The only gripe is that for normal sized pieces of paper, you have to fold them in half and read sideways. But once you get used to that, you are in great shape.

Great size and design

  • By A Customer from Fort Rucker AL USA on Tuesday, October 20, 2009
  • Pros: Great functional size
  • Cons: None
  • Review: Great size with all the pockets you need. Sewn in button holes that allow the leg strap to go over top of side flaps or tuck a flap under are a great feature for custom usage. As a helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army this kneeboard is perfect for the job and is not to big for a small cockpit yet large enough for all VFR or IFR needs.

It works.

  • By A Customer from Los Angeles CA USA on Monday, August 15, 2011
  • Pros: Plenty of pockets and good layout
  • Cons: A little to short to fit a Sectional without squeezing it in
  • Review: Relatively universal in layout, all the things you need to keep handy can be put right there, at your fingertips. Like other ASA products I have, I expect it to last for years. I have an ASA folding lapboard that has lasted me for years!

Recommended

  • By Diego from MIAMI BEACH FL USA on Wednesday, January 4, 2012
  • Review: I used to use a simple kneeboard during my flights, built by me, but there was the inconvenience of been not so well fixed on the leg.
This product is a good option for solving this inconvenience with no work.

simple kneeboard

  • By A Customer from Cheyenne, WY, USA on Tuesday, July 5, 2011
  • Pros: lightweight, simple use
  • Cons: price, size for maps
  • Review: Wish it was slightly larger, maps hard to fit into clear side. Recommend using maps off of skyvector.com and putting individual sheets in as opposed to an entire sectional.

nice, but slightly too small

  • By Michael from Gig Harbor WA USA on Wednesday, February 17, 2010
  • Pros: Well made, sturdy
  • Cons: too small for maps
  • Review: Nice, well made product. However it is 1/2 inch too short to store your maps in the map pocket, and my E6B barely fits.

Helpful but still not quite right

  • By Dr. Joseph Comaty from Baton Rouge LA USA on Monday, April 10, 2017
  • Pros: Improved storage capacity. Multiple slots.
  • Cons: Too large for cockpit; charts do not fit easily; approach plates not easily manipulated
  • Review: This is an improvement over a stand alone knee board. It has a solid middle section clip board and writing surface. This section can hold the approach plates, but I don't find I can easily manipulate the approach plates when I'm flying IFR. The right panel is too small for a chart, but will act as a pouch to slip a folded chart into. The holders for pen/pencil are too large and the items can slip out. I have not found the left panel useful for anything yet. I am still not satisfied that this is the organizational solution I was looking for. When open, the knee board is too large and interferes with the yoke controls. I must keep looking for a better solution.
