Great Radio at good price

  • By Jon a Thorp T18 flyer from Fallbrook CA USA on Wednesday, December 22, 2010
  • Pros: easy installation, easy to use
  • Cons:
  • Review: [NOTE: This review was written for the previous generation IC-A210 model] I upgraded to the Icom from a Narco Escort2 built in 1974. Having an experimental means this is not a real chore. The Narco had worked OK for 3 years from first flight, but on the last few fights I was getting comments about clarity. That meant time for an upgrade. The new radio is in and appears to be working fine. No long trips since installation, but local traffic hears me clearly, and the receiver picks up aircraft that are about 100 mile away in the pattern of a different airport.

  • Pros: Display is especially nice.
  • Cons:
  • Review: [NOTE: This review was written for the previous generation IC-A210 model] Product is very nice. Treatment by Icom was prompt and curteous (needed a couple of card-edge connector keys). I appreciate the new display and display colors.

Good radio, useless intercom

  • By Jimmie Blackwell from Cedar Park TX USA on Monday, February 14, 2011
  • Pros: Good receiver
  • Cons: Useless intercomm
  • Review: [NOTE: This review was written for the previous generation IC-A210 model] I decided on this radio because of the vox activated intercom. The noise level in my Sonex makes the intercom unusable. Icom missed the mark on this radio and I wasted $1200.00. I want Icom to
fix the design flaw and send me a new radio.
