Q: can you disconnect the ear buds and use a different style
A: Yes, the earbuds on the Icom VS-3 are detachable. They connect via a standard 3.5mm audio jack, which means you can easily swap them out. If you have different earbuds with a 3.5mm plug, they should work just fine with your VS-3.
