- Review: I wish I had this book 28 years ago but of course it was not out back then. The author Darren Smith just made a student pilot's life so much easier with this book to really get a student pilot through the tricky questions on the oral exam but for the price...........you cannot lose and it may in fact save your life one day if you understand the everything you need to know about VFR flying. Its all pretty much right here and you will be so prepared if you buy this book! I am just amazed at all of the technical jargon that is minimized and broken down so you can understand VFR in its entirety! Great job Darren!!!!!!
