Good for any pilot or instructor to have in the airplane

  • By CFII from Bridgeport WV USA on Wednesday, August 10, 2011
  • Pros: Just the basics; no aerodynamic theory
  • Cons: Easy to walk away in someone els's pocket
  • Review: This has all the essentials, but like other written material can be a handful in the airplane while you are trying to fly. Still pretty well organized and manageable especially if you have a copilot to read to you.

Use this routinely

  • By Jim Frederick from Springfield OH USA on Saturday, February 14, 2015
  • Pros: Effective pre-flight briefing aid
  • Cons:
  • Review: Most of my instruction is instruments, jets, TAA avionics, and other areas besides primary skills. A good visual aid for the two or three times a year I teach private or commercial level skills - gives the student the concept prior to going at it in flight and is a good refresher for me if I haven't done these things in awhile.

  • Review: I'm a student pilot with around 20 hours of training, I spend a lot of time in this book. Very helpful. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. Good purchase, good price.

Use regularly.

  • By James from Springfield OH USA on Tuesday, February 7, 2017
  • Review: I use both high and low wing versions. As an independent CFI the material is especially helpful by presenting pictures and text information.

Helpful.

  • By James H from Abilene KS USA on Thursday, October 22, 2020
  • Pros: Shows how to accomplish maneuvers step by step.
  • Cons: None
  • Review: I was a little rusty to work with a Commercial Applicant so we both went through the book and were able to be "on the same page' and it went well. Now all we need is to
be able to find the designated examiner. JP

Cover is not durable like the previous cover

  • By Bill from Fairfax VA USA on Wednesday, April 20, 2016
  • Pros: good content, appears to have the same content as older versions
  • Cons: Cheaper cover from earlier versions
  • Review: Good maneuver review, The older editions had a very durable plastic cover. I still have my older Low wing edition and it is still in good condition because of the cover. I lent my older high wing edition and never got it back. New high wing edition has an attractive heavy stock paper cover, but it will not stand up like the older version. Looks good though. I will store it in a Ziplock bag. Paper covers get beat up in a flight bag.
