My assisted living community has a little alcove shelf outside our doors. Residents can place items there that give a little snapshot of their lives.
There is an older gentleman who proudly served his fascinating career in the United States Air Force. He has a tiny Air Force banner on the wall in back of the alcove that's barely visible.
He's alone now and quite lonely and I knew exactly what that alcove needed.
His very shiny Super Constellation's nose catches everyone's eye as they round the corner and look down the long hall. And folks actually stop to look at it.
And engage him in welcome conversation.
It has made him so happy and proud.
And I'm happy too, having a great love for mid-century modern.
The iconic Super Connie's beauty can't be surpassed!

The base that I received in the mail is clearly different from the one shown in the picture. Not as attractive and it does not have the Air France script on it, which is the reason I ordered the item in the first place. The plane also sits crooked on the mount. Otherwise a nice item
