It works and is pretty comfortable

  • By Jerry from Roslyn Heights NY USA on Wednesday, August 8, 2012
  • Pros: sit higher without bringing along 6 different cushions,,
  • Cons: None really,, just those 2 "
  • Review: Most of the rental seats are too low and cannot be easily adjusted. I selected the 4" bottom, not because I am very short ( 5'9"). but rather so I can even lower the aircraft seat if I need to. Most of them will go down but not too far up.

The seat is comfortable but I too wish it had 2 more inches front to back. The back, as others have said, does not attach to the orig seat, but I have had no problems with it slipping down. You could get a long piece of velcro if needed. Nothing else like this out there so it is a winner.
BTW, MY Pilot Store did a great job of rushing me out another same seat for my passenger,,,, really rushed for me.. Thanks !!

Really love this cushion

  • By Robin from Louisville KY USA on Tuesday, October 16, 2012
  • Pros:
  • Cons: None
  • Review: Being only 5'3", I was having to choose either seeing outside, or reaching the rudders. This cushion lets me set higher up and gives me a great view. It fits the seat perfectly and stays in place without shifting around (like a pillow would do.) I even use it in the backseat when my husband is flying.

The short person's salvation!

  • By Peri from Tallahassee FL USA on Tuesday, June 28, 2011
  • Pros: Rugged canvas material, sturdy carrying strap
  • Cons: No strap to hold it folded up or secure it to the seat
  • Review: I am only 5 foot 2 and most aircraft cockpits are designed for someone 5'8" to 5'10". I finally understand what my CFI means when he says to keep the nose level with the horizon! My landings are better now that I can see near on the runway. This is just what I needed! Combined with a slightly-platform athletic sandal, I can now bottom out the rudder pedals!

see over the cowl

  • By A Customer from hoffman estates IL USA on Tuesday, May 26, 2009
  • Pros: initially, the cushion worked well
  • Cons: as time goes on, the padding seems to be somewhat compressed, lowering the maximum height available - will probably need another booster cushion
  • Review: landigs were less than perfect in my new 182 with its very high instrument panel - i had trouble with judging distance - with the 4x2 cushion-back, the problem was fairly well corrected

Nice and useful, but...

  • By Tim from Easton CT USA on Monday, July 20, 2009
  • Review: Overall - very good. Prompt delivery. However, I would have thought that the back of the cushion would have had some sort of (velcro) attachment to loop around the aircraft seat to hold it in place.
