Nice Printing

  • By Craig from Westerville OH USA on Tuesday, February 21, 2017
  • Pros: color printing and nice reproduction!
  • Cons:
  • Review: My default supplier for almost everything is Amazon, however when I went to order this book there, many reviews of the Pilot Flying Handbook slammed amazon suppliers for poor quality printing and black/white reproduction. I'm glad that I ordered this book from MyPilotStore, because the printing is full color and very nicely done. Definitely buy this book from this source!

Everything You Need

  • By Mark from Nezperce ID USA on Thursday, June 3, 2010
  • Pros: Thorough without being 1000 pages.
  • Cons: Explanations may be required from instructors and fellow pilots. Not a big "con" at all.
  • Review: The Airplane Flying Handbook is complete, and if I understand correctly, it contains the material that is deemed mandatory for any approved textbook. It's somewhere between ASA's Complete Private Pilot and Jeppesen's Guided Flight Discovery in terms of complexity. For the student that wants the most direct path to the PPL I highly recommend the Airplane Flying Handbook for a text combined with the ASA test prepware for examination readiness.

Excellent Handbook

  • By Thomas from Berkeley CA USA on Friday, May 15, 2009
  • Pros: Easy to understand and to the point
  • Cons: Not mandatory
  • Review: Very insightful and well written book, I had a couple of eureka moments after studying it and then applying the theory in practice. I recommend this to anyone studying to become a pilot or moving up to complex airplane or multiengine ratings. Every flight student should read this along with the Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge from day one.

  • Review: The FAA books are a much better value than third party publishers and they are great tools for all pilots. This book is very easy to understand and has great pictures.

  • By Richard from Downers Grove IL USA on Friday, August 5, 2016
  • Pros: easy to understand, good explanations
  • Cons: none
  • Review: This handbook has proved to be very helpful for the beginning pilot. I'm a visual learner and the pictures that accompany the test are most helpful in understanding the techniques.

What a great visual book!!

  • By Andrew from Fairview N.C. on Monday, January 14, 2008
  • Pros: Clear and wonderful illustrations
  • Cons: None at all
  • Review: This book is clearly to me one of the best book regarding exactly what the title says "Airplane Flying" whether your flying a single engine to a jet, VFR or IFR this both has it all. Even though this book does not seem to be a beginning flying manual (meaning that it does not deal with the bare basics of flying) it explains everything a experienced or new pilot in training would ask in great detail both in words and in color demonstrations. This is the ultimate supplement to any student or even professional Pilot there is.
