- Pros: Less expensive than rechargeable pack, AA cells widely available for the foreseeable future
- Review: I've owned a lot of hand held radios in my life and the biggest issue has always been getting replacement rechargeable battery packs. But whether you prefer a rechargeable pack or not, you should own at least one alkaline pack. You will never have difficulty finding AA alkaline batteries and a fresh charge is never further away than a new set of six AA's. I own two of these, so I can instantly swap in a fresh pack.
