For Use By Flight Instructors

  • Pros: Solid heavy-duty body. Will last for years.
  • Cons: Some have complained about the prop and wheels falling off but I have not had this happen to any of four of them that I have bought.
  • Review: My understanding is that this is not meant to be a toy. It is an instructional aid for flight instructors to use with their students. No, the wheels are not fit for a diorama. It is for the instructor to hold and maneuver as he or she gives instructions to a student. If you want to use it as a toy then superglue the propeller and wheels on and you'll do fine. Granted, neither will spin but there you are.

One of my favorite training aids

  • Review: Cute little airplane. Great as a teaching aid, but definitely NOT a toy. They seem to have a tendency to lose the left main gear! There’s something to be said for consistency, however, that is one aspect that should be engineered out of the production process.

Broke easily

  • Review: My kids loves Cessnas, and was really excited for this model. But the wheels broke off almost immediately (not with hard play). We tried to reattach it, but that was not possible. It has been sitting upside since. He picked it up the other day, and the propeller just fell off. Other Hot Wings we own have not had this quality issue. Disappointed, as this was shaping up to be one of his favorites. Now we are throwing it away.
