Review: I bought this kneeboard for my iPad mini 4 about 6 months ago and just got around to trying it out as I am now flying more regularly. My iPad does not fit into the bracket. It is off by a very small amount but does not snap in. My Pilot Store put me in touch with the manufacturer who sent a replacement and it has the same problem.

Review: I wore out one of these kneeboards. I was happy to find another. Adjustable, light weight, protects my I pad well.

Perfect fit and secure.
by Frederick from Harxheim RLP Germany

Pros: Quick to mount or unmount, slides onto yoke, is secure & safe.
Cons: No clip for paper/pamflets, should have other colors too.
Review: It was a good buy, and did what was adverted,
I specially like that I can mount or un-mount the kneeboard quickly, specially when I need to excit the cockpit.
What I found to be missing is a simple clip for paper sheets or pamflet to copy or make notes.
It should come in other colors than in black, such as brown leather or sliver etc:.
Interesting is that I can slide the kneeboard onto the yoke, so I have my Ipad mini in front of me while flying No need for a special yoke mount.

After years of service I wore the first one out and was very pleased to find this kneeboard still available.
by JAMES from Chapman KS USA

Pros: Versatile
Review: I am a 5500 hours pilot and hold Commercial,Multi Engine and IFR ratings and fly multiple aircraft including antiques. I use my Executive Kneeboard in the cockpit and for reading in iBooks. It just works without trying to be to much.

Worked great for 4 months until....
by Glen C from Stamford CT USA

Pros: The velcro holds the iPad up at a nice viewing angle
Cons: Ring mount made of weak plastic
Review: Would be a 5 star review but the plastic ring mount broke after 4 months. Wish they sold just that replacement. Not buying again. Will try a different kneeboard

Great Design - Except for the plastic ring that breaks
by A Customer from Bakersfield, CA

Pros: Compact, versatile
Cons: Falls apart - then unusable
Review: This is probably the best design for an ipad mini kneeboard out there - compact, versatile, portrait or landscape on the fly, etc. Except for one flaw - the plastic ring that holds everything together. I fly about 150 hours a year, and have already had the plastic ring break three times. When it breaks, the cover comes off, and you can't mount it to either the knee strap or RAM mount. If they made these rings out of metal, this thing would be unbeatable. They should at least sell replacement rings.

Perfect iPad mini companion, in or out of the cockpit!
by Ben from Clearwater FL USA

Pros: Usable in and out of cockpit. Quality materials.
Cons: Leg strap is too short.
Review: This kneeboard is exactly what I was looking for. I like that the strap is removable, so I can use it as a case when I'm not flying. Some reviews have said that the top right corner does not hold well, but mine fits perfectly. If there was more material holding the top edge of the iPad, it might work better. But in order to provide access to all ports, they had to make it like it is.
I also think the leg strap is too short. I'm a fairly skinny guy, but it is tight even at its maximum length. Anyone who is heavier would have problems with it.
I use the straps on the front to hold a notepad and pen for jotting down weather info and clearances. The windowed pocket on the inside is nice but it could be bigger.

Exactly as described!
by Thomas from Bel Air MD USA

Pros: Fits iPad well, converts easily to knee board
Cons: Would prefer real leather and MADE IN THE USA!
Review: Have not yet had the opportunity to check it out in the cockpit though I have been "chair flying" in my house. I expect good things from the versatility.

Effective for its price
by Sean from Bend OR USA

Pros: Clean, professional, efficient
Cons: Case does not fit perfectly
Review: Product looks very clean, being able to serve as a case or a knee board. Like many of the other reviews one corner of the case doesn't want to fit around the iPad mini but it has never completely popped out on me. For the price and professional clean look I would buy it again.

Fantastic Tool
by Georges de Luxembourg from Luxembourg Europe

Pros: Rugged, flexible, high quality design engineering and manufacturing quality
Cons: Strictly no cons
Review: I have logged some 54 hours of flight time with this ipad holder and I like the safe & easy fixing on the leg under all circumstances even in very bumpy conditions.
The design is well engineered and high quality manufacturing.
I can warmly recommend it to the pilot community!
No competitor has as comparable quality for that price.

Does the job, but needs a bit of tweaking
by Dave from New Baltimore MI USA

Pros: Printed information on board is nice
Cons: Foam pads and the adhesive,
Review: Adhesive holding the very cheap foam pads on the bottom failed and so I stuck a piece of paper to the adhesive so not to stick the kneeboard to my pants.

Made of cheap plastic
by Kevin from TN USA

Pros: cheap plastic
Cons: You can use the adapters for the suction cup along with the leg strap
Review: Not a bad kneeboard but it is made of cheap plastic. I have already broke the adapter to the kneeboard. I had to super glue it back.

We often have to compromise.
by Steve from Mesa

Pros: Well built. Attractive. Multiple positions on leg. Multiple mounting options.
Cons: Corners do not fit iPad mini. Magnet shutoff will not work.
Review: This is a tough little folio style kneeboard. It is attractive. The leather is nice. The rotating action is smooth and well thought out. I like the Velcro idea. The quick connect on the leg strap is nice also. It is a great little kneeboard. BUT.... You will hate this kneeboard if you don't prepare yourself for two things. As mentioned in other reviews, the magnet does not shut the iPad off and you cannot get the iPad to securely clip into place at all four corners. I have decided to use my creative self and figure out a way to secure the corner on my own. The positive features warrant this annoying manufacture or design flaw. The magnet shutoff, I can live with it.

Helpful Tool
by John from Tempe AZ USA

Pros: Well made, fits and works as advertised
Cons: Lacks a by-design writing surface and paper retainer on the cover
Review: The kneeboard is as advertised. The leg strap is comfortable, the iPad stays nested correctly and the pivot works smoothly. It would be helpful if the next gen included a low-profile clip and writing surface on the cover. No matter how electronic we get, we all still need to scribble some information by hand from time to time.

Solid product, solid price
by A Customer from

Pros: Quality construction
Review: Works well and performs as expected.

Only reason it doesn't get five stars is because the right corner doesn't fit as snuggly as it should. You have to fiddle with it quite a bit to get a flush fit.

I'd recommend this product to a friend.

Like it - some areas of improvement
by A Customer from Bellevue WA USA

Review: I like the look of this kneeboard and am happy with this purchase.  Right upper corner doesn't fit well as other review says, but it doesn't bother me very much. One thing I wish to see was tilting feature. I sit high and my leg create downward slop toward front. Therefore, I put my knee up when I read charts in flight. It is not a big deal.

Good buy worth the money
by ray R-22 pilot from Bonney Lake WA USA

Pros: Nice and sturdy
Cons: No close latch
Review: Very good case only problem is with it's auto shut off feature it doesn't stay closed unless you lay it on its fax other than that very good product

by David from Pentagon, VA USA
Pros: Performs as advertised
Cons: None
Review: Very well suited to the flying environment. It keeps the Mini secure and protected when not in use. It's comfortable and performs as advertised. If I had to make any changes, it would be to make the top cover/flap more of a clipboard, instead of the elastic straps. Other than that, a great product.

Works as advertised
by Russell from Cold Brook NY USA

Pros: The only cover I've found that is thin enough to fit under the yoke that also allows rotating the iPad.
Cons: Stitching beginning to fray.
Review: This kneeboard/cover fits the iPad mini well, and also fits the plane well. It is thin enough to fit under the yoke without interfering and also small enough to be used in my Rans with a stick instead of a yoke. It is fraying a little. As a CFI I use it a lot, but that is still a bit early. I have had some difficulty finding a mount to use in a vehicle, but it meets my needs very well in the plane.

Does not fit mini retina
by Blake - student pilot from Utah

Pros: Versatile and built well
Cons: Magnets do not turn off iPad and does not properly fit iPad mini with retina
Review: Looks nice and it built well but the magnet does NOT shut the screen off and despite how it is advertised it in fact does NOT fit the iPad mini with retina. I purchased this mount and noticed the top right corner does not stay clipped in. I assumed it was a manufacturing defect and had a replacement sent (mypilotstore was extremely accommodating with the request) but the second case has the same issue with the top right corner.

Great cover for the Ipad Mini
by A Customer from Gilbert AZ USA

Pros: Great for handling the Ipad Mini in the airplane and at home.
Cons: None
Review: After reading the reviews, I concur that this cover is excellent not just for flying. The velcro allows you to set any angle for viewing.

Works well, but could be better.
by A Customer from

Review: I like that you are able to position the ipad at almost any angle- vertical or horizontal, however they chose to use Velcro to secure the ipad in the position. The Velcro is on all the corners of the holder and is also exposed when the ipad is closed with the cover over the front. My problem with that is that it will snag my clothes/uniform and cause it to pill. I'm not a fan of that at all and am still in the market for a better option. Close, but no cigar.

Workmanship is excellent
by Victor from Casa Grande, AZ

Pros: Workmanship is excellent
Review: Placing the iPad in it is easy and removing it is easy as well.  Placing the iPad in certain positions is very positive and it does not move, especially in the cockpit where it is most important. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a kneeboard mount for a Mini iPad

They need to make a change
by Victor from Casa Grande AZ USA

Pros: positioning the ipad is easy and it does not move do to the velcro making it to adjust for sun reflection in the cockpit.
Cons: The mount needs to be improved so the ipad can be snapped in place with one hand.
Review: It does the job, well constructed and easy to use except for one thing. The mount requires 2 hands to put the Mini iPad in and to take it out due to the spring loaded clamps.
