Serengeti Large Aviator Sunglasses

AVIATOR
Serengeti Aviators are just as much as home on the road as they are in the air.  Choose a gradient lens, preferred by pilots because they block harsh glare from the sun above, while providing a clear view of instruments below.  Or, select non-gradient lenses for uniform, top-to-bottom protection against sun and glare.  No matter what you're piloting, Aviators with Serengeti's advanced photochromic lenses minimize fatigue and eye strain from the sun.

Technology beyond the naked eye
Serengeti lenses achieve such a high level of acuity because we only use the finest materials available.  And the process by which Serengeti develops their lenses gives them exceptional color and contrast enhancement.

Serengeti's High Definition Lens
Serengeti's proprietary Spectral Control (TM) lens system provides contrast and color enhancement by selectively filtering certain colors from the visible light spectrum.  This allows the most optimal colors through, creating an effect where colors are crisper and images are clearer, making it the ultimate high definition view.

Bright or Shade

Serengeti's exclusive photochromic lenses automatically darken in bright sunlight to give superior definition, while they lighten in overcast or shade conditions for extra contrast.  And since the technology is infused directly into the lens, it will never wear off or out.

Block the Blues
Blue light waves cause a phenomenon called "blue blur", which occurs when they scatter off dust and moisture particles in the air and, essentially veil glare.  Serengeti lenses block 95% of blue light, virtually eliminating the eye strain and fatigue blue blur can cause.

UV Protection Goes Beyond Standards
The government and commercial bodies have set standards for UV protection in sunglasses.  Then there are Serengeti's standards.  They're like yours standards.  They go beyond the basic level of expectation, eliminating virtually 100% of UVA and UVB rays.  The Serengeti lenses also feature an anti-reflective coating on the back side to block additional glare and reflections.

Eliminate the Harsh Glare
Glare is inevitable by-product of light rays bouncing off reflective surfaces.  But Serengeti's polarizing film removes glare as an uncomfortable factor in driving, and the eye fatigue it can cause.

Lens:
DRIVERS GRADIENT.  An exceptional, all-conditions lens, Drivers Gradient is the choice of pilots who need protection for their eyes, but a clear view of their instrument panel.

great glasses
by john "cool old guy" Martin from willowick OH USA

Pros: See review above
Cons: cost - but maybe not when compared to other sellers
Review: I bought these glasses because ruined my first pair in an unfortunate incident - I had owned them for nearly 5 years. Was concerned that the quality may have deteriorated. Not to worry. These new ones were great. Light weight, firm on my head, no glare from your face on the back of the lenses, glass lenses, and very cool looking.

Great Lenses Poor Quality Frame
by A Customer from San Jose, CA

Pros: Great lenses
Cons: Extremely poor quality frame coating.
Review: Great lenses, but black coating rubbed of frame in patches after about a year and one half of minimal use. Even though out of warrantry factory would not stand behind product. Factory wanted $70+ to exchange glasses. I have two pairs of Ray Bans that are like new after 15+ years of use.

Takes away the eye strain without the darkness
by Buck from Brazoria, TX.

Pros: Protect your eyes without being dark and make items have more defiition.
Cons: Heavy and not as stylish as other aviators.
Review: This is my third pair of Sarengeti Aviators. They are the best sunglasses I have ever owned. They make objects more clear with more definition. They protect your eyes without making everything dark. I only wish the style was more like the Rayban Aviators. However the Raybans lenses don't even compare. They are a little heavy, but it's worth it for the clearity. I would definitely recommend these to everyone.

Good Glasses, Stupid Case
by bucky from Anchorage AK USA

Review:

The glasses are what I've come to expect from Serengeti.  Perfect optics but too heavy.  I knew that going in, so no complaint there.

But WHY OH WHY do sunglasses come in cases made of cheap syntethic materials that off-gas and cloud the lenses of the glasses?!?!  Now I have to try to find a "smart case" that doesn't automatically dirty my glasses.

Completely satisfied with mypilotstore.com though !!

The Best Sunglasses I've ever owned
by GENE from EASTLAKE OH USA

Pros: Light weight, Gradient Density, Extremely Comfortable,Contrast Enhancing
Cons: Cannot think of a single bad attribute
Review: The Large Serengeti Aviators are the best sunglasses I've ever owned. I've owned Raybans, Gargoyles and dozen designer glasses. The Aviators are the best driving, flying and boating sunglasses around. The gradient density lenses always keep instrument panels bright and the outside dimmer. The pink-copper coating is very contrast enhancing.
