Welcome to your one-stop shop for all the supplies you'll need at United Aviate Academy. The items listed on this page are essential and approved for new students. Follow these instructions to ensure you have everything required:

Select the mandatory items listed below, including a headset, a view limiting device, and all "required products". UAA has also selected "optional items" that will be helpful in your training.
After making your selections, click the orange "Add All Selected Items to Cart" button to place everything in your shopping cart.
Your cart will automatically include a "FREE Delivery to United Aviate Academy in Goodyear, AZ" item, instructing us to delivery directly to the school prior to your arrival.

During checkout, provide your billing address for the credit card used. Do not change the shipping address; we will deliver all items directly to UAA with your name labeled.

Items Required for United Aviate Academy:

HEADSETS

United Aviate Academy (UAA) has carefully selected three headset models that meet United and FAA regulations and deliver proven performance. These headsets are suitable for use throughout your training and into your career in an airline cockpit.

Bose A30 and David Clark One-X: Premium FAA approved noise reduction headsets. All UAA aircraft are equipped with a 6-pin LEMO jack in the panel and these headsets will be powered by the aircraft electrical system and do not require batteries.

The David Clark H10-13S is a lower priced option that is a passive noise reduction headset, does not require batteries. This option includes an adapter from standard dual plugs to the 6-pin LEMO jacks found on all UAA aircraft.

View Limiting Devices

View limiting devices, also known as IFR hoods, are essential during flight training to simulate conditions of flying in clouds or poor visibility. These devices restrict your view to only the flight instruments, thereby eliminating external visual references such as the ground or horizon. This helps train you to rely solely on instrument readings. For those who wear eyeglasses, we recommend the "Eyeglass Overcasters" for better comfort and usability. All other devices listed will also perform well for students not wearing glasses.

Flashlights

UAA requires each student to have at least one flashlight. For night flying, it's important to choose a flashlight that offers both a bright white light and a red light. The white light is essential for conducting pre-flight inspections in low-light conditions, ensuring all parts of the aircraft are in good working order. The red light helps preserve your night vision when inside the cockpit, allowing you to check instruments and read charts without impairing your ability to see in the dark. These selected flashlights meet both criteria and are ideal for your training needs.
