This adapter allows older 6-pin panel powered aviation headsets to be used in standard dual plug GA / fixed wing aircraft.
It is designed for older Bose X, Lightspeed 3G, and similar 6-pin panel powered LEMO / Redel headsets that do not have a battery box. When these headsets are plugged into an aircraft with a 6-pin LEMO jack, the aircraft supplies power for the ANR system. When adapting them to dual GA plugs, a battery box is required to power the ANR.
This adapter includes a 9V battery box to supply the required headset power. It also includes auto shutoff to help save battery life.
Important compatibility note: This is not the right adapter for most newer ANR headsets from Bose (A20, A30), Lightspeed, David Clark, and other manufacturers that already include a battery box on the headset cable, including many LEMO versions. For those headsets, use the 6-pin LEMO Panel Power to Fixed Wing Dual Plug Adapter instead.

Q: Ad says this adapter (product #5616) works with Lightspeed Zulu. So '6-pin Redel' is the same as 'lemo'?
A: Yes, a Redel and a LEMO connector are the same thing, they are just made out of different materials. Functionally, however, they are identical. You can read more in our Aviation Headset Connectors page.

Q: Hi, I was wondering if there is an adaptor which converts a bose panel powered headset to the twin plug ga which draws power from the mic or spkr jack and includes an input for cell phone or mp3? Also what shipping costs am I looking at to send it to Australia? Thanks for your time Matt
A: This would be the correct adapter to convert the Bose panel powered headset for use with the dual plug fixed wing connection, however it will be powered by batteries as opposed to the panel. It does not have an MP3 input jack.
