- Review: Sturdy, well-made, and certainly seems to be holding up to the test of time. Unlike the cardboard version that came in my KingSchools ground school kit, this one can definitely take some abuse. The con is that I cant see through the plotter to get my true course markers, i have to look for and use projections from VOR!s. Other than that, it gets the job done for everything else.

Issued to me at USAF Navigator School at Mather AFB, CA.; used it for over 10 years. Fast and accurate. I don't know what they use today, but it's hard to believe one could make these calculations any quicker using an electronic calculator.
We had special decals of sorts which we applied to the wind side. These allowed for quick calculations of motions when doing celestial navigation.
