Trig TT23G Compact Transponder with Built-In GPS

The Trig TT23 and TT23G are next-generation transponders known for their compact design, reliability, and full ADS-B compatibility. The TT23G includes an internal GPS certified to ETSO-C199, offering a fully integrated ADS-B Out solution ideal for experimental and light sport aircraft in the U.S.

With minimal size and weight, the TT23G is designed to maximize panel space. It fits into a 57mm round hole or compact mount and comes with all necessary installation hardware. This unit provides 250 watts of power, making it a Class 1 Mode S transponder suitable for both VFR and IFR operations.

All Trig compact transponders are made up of two main parts: a compact control head with a built-in altitude encoder, saving both space and cost, and a separate hardware box that can be installed anywhere on the airframe. The control head is just 54mm (2 3/25”) deep and fits in a panel with a 57mm (2 ¼”) round hole or a smaller compact mount – it comes with all the necessary fittings for either installation option. Our compact transponders are highly efficient, while commonly used in various general aviation aircraft, they are particularly well-suited for gliders and balloons when paired with an auxiliary battery.

Trig’s compact transponders are easy to use, offering a clear, bright display that is easy to read in any lighting condition and can be manually dimmed. The control head is also splash-proof, making it an excellent choice for open cockpit and seaplane operations.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What is the difference between the TT23 and TT23G?
The TT23 requires an external GPS source for ADS-B Out, such as the TN70. The TT23G has a built-in GPS (ETSO-C199), suitable for voluntary equipage or rule compliance in experimental and LSA aircraft in FAA airspace.

Is the controller display visible in all lighting conditions?
Yes, the LCD display is easy to read in full sunlight and low light. Manual dimming adjusts the backlight to your preference.

Is the controller easy to use?
Yes. One-handed operation is intuitive. The 'CODE' dial and 'ENT' button are glove-friendly.

How does the compact or round mount installation work?
The included TC20 control head can be installed in a 57mm round hole or compact mount. The kit includes both options and a cutting template.

Can I use the TT23G in an open cockpit aircraft?
Yes. The TC20 control head is splash-proof, ideal for open cockpit or seaplane use.

Does the TT23 have an STC?
Trig is working with Matrea Aerospace Design on an STC for the TT23 (external GPS version) covering over 500 aircraft types. This will not apply to the TT23G.

How does the TT23G meet ADS-B Out compliance?
The TT23G, with its internal GPS, is a rule-compliant ADS-B Out solution for experimental and LSA aircraft in FAA rule airspace. It is not approved for certified aircraft in rule airspace but may be used voluntarily outside of it for enhanced visibility.
