Now we have two "new" D/C headsets

  • By Alan from Chowchilla CA USA on Tuesday, July 19, 2016
  • Pros: High quality product, superb audio clarity and noise suppression. Customer support from D/C is second to none.
  • Cons: Pilots who have over a thousand dollars to spend buy lighter, less bulky sets.
  • Review: When I received the new 10-86 headset for helicopters, I learned that David Clark would refurbish my 30 year old set for way less than half the cost of the new set. Now, my wife and I each have a "new" D/C headset. It's summer, so we're flying with the doors removed and couldn't be happier because the sets came with mic covers that stop the wind noise. We're astonished at how quiet the flying world is after the change from "old" equipment. Intercom and radio communications are crystal clear.

Here's advice straight from my rotary wing flight examiner: Buy the least expensive D/C headset that fits your need. You'll never notice the difference in sound quality and you'll never be sorry that you didn't spend a lot more.

Great headset

  • By David from Oakton VA USA on Monday, July 12, 2010
  • Pros: High quality headset, price, not too expensive
  • Cons:
  • Review: This headset has great noise supression qualities for the earpieces, and the microphone works great. The impedance is correct for my application and works flawlessly in my suite of equipment.

H10-36 helicopter headset.

  • By Blendon from Tehachapi CA USA on Tuesday, March 8, 2011
  • Pros: Price, quality, durability
  • Cons: Passive noise control- the foam defuser is need for the microphone.
  • Review: This headset met all of my expectations for the price range. There is a fair amount of noise from outside sources (rotor/ engine) when the doors are off, but if you buy the foam defuser for the microphone it cuts the outside noise level way down.

great first headset.

  • By A Customer from tacoma WA USA on Monday, January 28, 2013
  • Pros: price, sound quality
  • Cons: had to buy mike cover seperatly.
  • Review: To be completely honest I bought these headsets because I was on a budget. However I'm glad that I went with DC's over a cheaper brand. So far I have had no complaints. Great headsets for a first set or as an extra pair.

"Comfort and Quality"

  • By David from Bend OR USA on Friday, October 30, 2009
  • Pros: comfortable, gain adjust on mic, durable
  • Cons: absence of foam mic cover
  • Review: The David Clark H10-36 is a great headset to begin flight training and for continued use into your commercial career. It is very comfortable and easy to adjust. The H10-36 also has great sound quality. It would be nice if it came with the foam mic cover, but with a little tweak of the gain adjustment screw you can keep it from picking up external noise and still have it pick up your voice clearly. Flying in the Robinson R-22, blade slap will activate the mic every once in a while. I haven't flown "doors off" with it yet, but I'm assuming I'll definitely need the foam mic cover for that.
