It's a nice improvement

  • By Ronald Hendren from Davisburg , Mi on Sunday, January 11, 2015
  • Pros: Small and strong, love pencil pockets too
  • Cons: Hoping the single Velcro pad hold up
  • Review: I had one of those mini clipboards and flipping through the pages wasn't very efficient. This product make it really easy to find tons of info without being bulky

  • By KP from Fort Wayne IN USA on Thursday, March 12, 2015
  • Pros: easy to use and it has pen slots
  • Cons: it falls down and off my leg when I walk. I wish it had a way to say up
  • Review: This product is awesome. I am an EMT and i use it in the ambulance all the time. I keep inportant maps in the clear sleaves and i keep notes on a piece of paper that is secured by the small clip board

Works great in the R22

  • By Steven from Staten Island NY USA on Thursday, February 4, 2016
  • Pros: Can keep everything you need in one place, maps , checklists etc.
  • Cons: Strap too long, used gorilla tape to shorten it and it now is perfect
  • Review: I am a student helicopter pilot . Had a trifold kneeboard and found it difficult to access all the information I needed easily, plus it was very bulky. This product is great , sheet protectors easy to use and can even keep my E6B on the clipboard. I can even write on sheet protectors with erasable markers

Excellent

  • By Cruix from Sandefjord VESTFOLD Norway on Tuesday, April 19, 2016
  • Pros: Slim, sturdy, practical,
  • Cons: None really
  • Review: Slimmer than a lot of similar products, without sacrificing practicality. Perfect in a cramped cockpit like the R22. Could not be happier. OBS// buy extra plastic pockets, only came with a few.

Overall great product

  • By Richard from Boone NC USA on Wednesday, October 26, 2011
  • Pros: Nice fit, doesnt slide, holds a timer mount, hard kneeboard
  • Cons: none
  • Review: Works as intended, even with the doors off on the helicopters I fly. Doesn't intrfere with any cyclic or collective control. Very nice product, I would recommend these to any private or commercial pilot

Best Kneeboard I've ever owned....Period!

  • By Hank from Pleasanton CA USA on Wednesday, June 24, 2009
  • Review: I've numerous kneeboards over the years and this the best year. Fits my leg comfortably and very flexible. I really like the sleeves and ability to change out information cards. I used it on my CFII checkride three weeks ago...worked perfectly! Thanks Hank CFII ASEL

very versatile

  • By THERESE from NY on Saturday, October 25, 2014
  • Review: Although I use this product in flight, I am not a pilot. As a flight medic, I have created custom report forms for the clipboard to document the call info, call times, patient vitals and my findings. I have used the pocket pages to hold pertinent charts and information that may be needed during calls, as well as hold paperwork from the scene or my EKG strips. While it doesn't have every feature I would want its the best I've tried so far.

Great Choice!

  • By A Customer from Bend OR USA on Tuesday, April 29, 2014
  • Pros:
  • Cons: leg strap is to big
  • Review: It's a great kneeboard, very convenient. Very easy to flip through the plastic sheets or just flip them over to use the sectional. The sheets are short enough to not be in the way of the collective. It's used 6 days a week and the only down side so far is the leg strap is to big and not adjustable.

Pretty good.

  • By Phi from Eagle River AK USA on Thursday, October 3, 2013
  • Pros: Best I've seen.
  • Cons: Leg strap too long.
  • Review: I fly IFR helicopters and I needed a good kneeboard. I have tried several. This one is the best I've seen. It is small and accommodates Jepp charts. Downside is the elastic strap is too long for normal leg size. You would have to have a REALLY big leg for that strap to fit you. Other than that pretty user-friendly.

Great for helicopter pilots

  • By Edward from Oakland CA USA on Monday, June 20, 2011
  • Pros: Doesn't get in the way. Great set up.
  • Cons: Sleeves are a pain to get out.
  • Review: The loose rings help by not getting in the way of the collective. Fits nicely around the leg, and doesn't interfere. Con, putting in the sleeves and taking them out is a pain. Has slots for pencils, comes with about 5 sleeves and has a clipboard in it.

Next to perfect

  • By Phormer Phantom Phlyer from Virginia Beach VA USA on Wednesday, November 28, 2012
  • Pros: For a "Lefty" the flex ring solutionworks best.
  • Cons:
  • Review: Nothing fancy it is what you expect - a kneeboard. If you want to built your own checklist you need to buy some extra sheet protectors.

Nice and small

  • By Deborah from Atlanta GA USA on Monday, February 18, 2008
  • Pros: Small, compact, well designed
  • Cons: Clipboard is a little tight
  • Review: I like this kneeboard because it's very compact (as a female pilot, that counts!). The side panel that wraps around your leg is very conveniently designed for pencils, etc., and the ring binders are comfortable. My only criticism is the clipboard part. Because the clipboard inserts into the nylon pocket on the kneeboard, there's a ridge right below where you want to clip - still usable, but not totally smooth. Just be sure to have a couple of layers of paper and it's fine, though!

Love it!

  • By A Customer from Oklahoma City on Friday, October 22, 2010
  • Pros: its small / not bulkey / flexible/ comfortable to wear.
  • Cons: need replacement page protectors. they tear out over time
  • Review: I fly a Robinson R-44 VFR , and I love this knee board. I'm also left handed and wear it on my left leg. I fly 3-4 days a week and haven't flew without it for over a year. It has held up well, except the page protectors are starting to tear out. I need to order new ones.

  • Review: My first ever kneeboard so no idea what to compare it to. Seems very well thought out. Spaces for pens/pencils, flashlight, and a sleeve pocket which would hold a cell phone if you choose. Leg strap fits well. Mine shipped without the In-Flight guide and protective sheets. I contacted customer service and Kathy responded immediately and kept me up to date until it was shipped from the manufacturer. Kudos Kathy for your help. The In-Flight sheets have helpful information for student pilots.

Great, but wish there was a lefty option

  • By Katheryn from Fort Rucker on Monday, August 17, 2009
  • Pros: Rings, folders, easy access to all necessary documents
  • Cons: Not as easy to use for lefties, forces the kneeboard to be "upside-down" and somewhat inconvenient to use
  • Review: I love the rings, the plastic folders, and the loose leaf sheets to go with it. I love how it has pen / pencil holders and the plastic strap to hold sheets around the middle of the board. I don't love how it only sits on the right leg in one direction or the left leg in another. One way is clearly "upside-down," and this makes it somewhat difficult to set up in a way that is comfortable. However, this is not an insurmountable obstacle, and the kneeboard overall is well worth the money spent.

Good but.....

  • By Christopher from Dunedin FL USA on Thursday, November 20, 2008
  • Review: The kneeboard works fine but the adjustment appears to be for someone with much 'larger' legs than I have. Maybe the fact that I am flying in Florida and in shorts has something to do with it but I find the 'fit' too lose.

It'll do if you can't find exactly what you want.

  • By Hal from Terrell TX USA on Wednesday, February 17, 2010
  • Pros: Not the worse knee board on the market. Lots of fixed wing drivers use/like this one. Light/compact.
  • Cons: Kinda pricey for what it is.
  • Review: Pretty much what I expected. I use it flying a Bell 407 and the cockpit is narrow, even for small to medium sized pilots. I think it would be better if the rings were on the right so the pages opened toward the door and not toward and onto the cyclic control when worn on the right leg. As for the leg strap, I would prefer a plastic fastener/buckle instead of the minimal hook and loop (Velcro) fastener. May try wearing it upside down so the rings are on the right. That might keep the clipboard from working out of position. The page protectors are a nice feature. Returning pencils/pens and small flashlights to their elastic keepers can be a challenge in the dark with one hand-maybe after the newness wears off a bit. Just personal preferences-I didn't throw it in the trash.
