NACO 4-Ring Binder Kit

Keep all your NACO (NOS) IFR needs in a single binder. Kit includes 1 binder, 10 sheet protectors, and 5 color side dividers.

The binder is made of durable black vinyl, has a reinforced spine, 1-1/2" rings that accommodate the drill pattern of the NACO-style (previously NOS) approach plates.

The sheet protectors are made of translucent plastic to protect the most frequently used approach plates.

The 5 color side dividers provide quick reference to various sections of the approach plate book and are reversible for left or right.

Does everything promised! A little too big though.
by Georgios from Stanford CA USA

Pros: Easy to use. Sturdy.
Cons: Too big.
Review: It does everything promised. It fits nicely and it feels sturdy. My one note is that it seems that it could had been made smaller, which would had been useful in a small cockpit.

Binder Bulky and too long.
by Bill from Janesville CA USA

Pros: Holds them together
Cons: Can't maneuver easily within the constraints of Archer cockpit
Review: Convinced me that Jeppesen side hole punched plates for me in the cockpit of an Archer is less intrusive and easier to manage. This binder too long and bulky. With NOS plates need to be able to flip over and see the back, but couldn't really with this binder.

I wouldn't buy this product again
by John from Tomball TX USA

Pros: Good rings
Cons: Binder very poor quality
Review: The cover is very cheesey. Had wrinkles out of box. Dividers do not protrude enough to label. The pockets are difficult to install the thin approach sheets. Had to trim sheets to get them in. Recommend the pockets that fold around the apch sheet(s)

Bulky - gets the job done
by Jeff from Minot ND USA

Pros: Fairly sturdy construction
Cons: Big
Review: It seems a little bulky, but then again this keeps the approach plates in good condition. I just set the whole works in my flight bag and don't have to worry about jamming all the pages.

I would buy this product again
by Louis from Harvest AL USA

Pros: Compact, easy to use
Cons: None so far
Review: I like the organization this product provides for approach plates and ease of access. The colored tabs are a nice touch for markers and quick access to what you're looking for. Highly recommend this product.

Not what I was hoping for
by Robbin from Hixson TN USA

Pros: protective sheets
Cons: binder does not fold well for use
Review: I was hoping to get a binder that would flip over and be able to rest on my leg. However, the binder does not fold back under itself and is too clumsy to use during flight. I was able to use the protective cover sheets for those plates that I planned to use, remove them from the binder, and clip them to my knee board and this worked well.

It will help organize simplify work load
by Kurt from Minneola FL USA

Pros: Set up your flight before you go with color coded dividers.
Review: It helps keep charts order as you need during your flight from point A to point B or C,etc.

Review: I prefer loose leaf plates. The binder and tabs help with organization for those plates that are not on my kneeboard. Things change while you are flying and time is precious.

too bulky
by A Customer from Appleton WI

Cons: too bulky
Review: 1.5" binder , clumsy. The picture does not give any idea of its size. Maybe Ok if you want 100 aproach charts in there.

by A Customer from Farmington CT
Review: I certainly got more than I bargained for. I didn't expect the colorful dividers with the new binder nor did I expect the approach plate protectors. The purchase was a good value.

Previous Customer Questions For NACO 4-Ring Binder Kit:
Ask Your Own Question
On Thursday, May 29, 2008 a customer asked:
Q:
Is this really too bulky? The reviews for these different chart binders are confusing... One says they're too big; the next says they're just right; then the reviews for another product complain they're too small. What's a newbie to do? All I want is a loose-leaf binder that carries my state's approach plates safely and securely with a front and back cover. Just like Goldilocks: Not too big and not too small, but just right... So what's the best one? Thanks.
A: As you observed, it all comes down to a personal preference.  What works in one plane for one person may not be ideal for another.  The NACO Binder (this product that you asked about) is a rigid binder.  The front and back covers are both 10.75" x 6.5" and rigid.  The top spine is 2.25" x 6.5".  The rings are 1.5" in diameter.  Then, there is the Flip Binder that is smaller and has a flexible front and back cover and does not have a top spine (the rings are exposed).   The rings are slightly smaller in the Flip Binder.  Some people prefer the smaller/flexible Flip Binder while others like a solid surface and larger rings found on the NACO Binder.  Overall, they sell almost equally, maybe slightly more Flip Binders.  Based on your comments, if I had to recommend one, I would probably suggest that you try the NACO Flip Binder.
