Serengeti Velocity Titanium Aviator Sunglasses

AVIATOR
Serengeti Aviators are just as much as home on the road as they are in the air.  Choose a gradient lens, preferred by pilots because they block harsh glare from the sun above, while providing a clear view of instruments below.  Or, select non-gradient lenses for uniform, top-to-bottom protection against sun and glare.  No matter what you're piloting, Aviators with Serengeti's advanced photochromic lenses minimize fatigue and eye strain from the sun.

Technology beyond the naked eye
Serengeti lenses achieve such a high level of acuity because we only use the finest materials available.  And the process by which Serengeti develops their lenses gives them exceptional color and contrast enhancement.

Serengeti's High Definition Lens
Serengeti's proprietary Spectral Control (TM) lens system provides contrast and color enhancement by selectively filtering certain colors from the visible light spectrum.  This allows the most optimal colors through, creating an effect where colors are crisper and images are clearer, making it the ultimate high definition view.

Bright or Shade

Serengeti's exclusive photochromic lenses automatically darken in bright sunlight to give superior definition, while they lighten in overcast or shade conditions for extra contrast.  And since the technology is infused directly into the lens, it will never wear off or out.

Block the Blues
Blue light waves cause a phenomenon called "blue blur", which occurs when they scatter off dust and moisture particles in the air and, essentially veil glare.  Serengeti lenses block 95% of blue light, virtually eliminating the eye strain and fatigue blue blur can cause.

UV Protection Goes Beyond Standards
The government and commercial bodies have set standards for UV protection in sunglasses.  Then there are Serengeti's standards.  They're like yours standards.  They go beyond the basic level of expectation, eliminating virtually 100% of UVA and UVB rays.  The Serengeti lenses also feature an anti-reflective coating on the back side to block additional glare and reflections.

Eliminate the Harsh Glare
Glare is inevitable by-product of light rays bouncing off reflective surfaces.  But Serengeti's polarizing film removes glare as an uncomfortable factor in driving, and the eye fatigue it can cause.

DRIVERS POLARIZED.  Good in cloudy conditions, as well as bright light, with the added benefit of Serengeti's polarizing technology.

Best Pair of Sunglasses I've Ever Owned
by Instructor Pilot from Waco TX USA

Pros: Photochromic, non polarized, superior clarity, reduces eye fatigue.
Cons: Have to take them off at times.
Review: Excellent glare cutting properties. Greatly improves my ability to scan for traffic. Also great in low light conditions, I'll often forget to take them off when the sun sets. Not polarized, so glass panels and iPads can still be read. Reduces fatigue.....I can feel my eyes relax when I put them on.

Great optics, not so great frames
by Flyer1 from Nevada

Pros: Lenses
Cons: Frames inability to protect the lenses
Review: I love the gradient glass, perfect for reading the instruments and looking outside into the bright sunlight.....but the frames offer little to no protection to these quality lenses. Last pair fell off my head and promptly cracked the lens. So I plan on being very careful with pair number two! There will not be a third pair, should these break.... Just to flimsy for the price.

Great Sunglasses
by A Customer from Kennett MO USA

Pros: Quality lens and frame
Cons: NONE
Review: I purchased these to use in the airplane only and now I wear them everywhere. They really help with the contrast on hazy days and stop the glare sunny days. With the gradient lens it helps looking at the instruments after looking outside the cockpit. These are the best sunglasses I have ever used.

Well they were good, but
by Flyer from Nevada

Pros: Nice looking, gradient is nice
Cons: Fragile.
Review: So they fell off my face this afternoon and cracked when they hit the tarmac. I liked them until this happened. Good for vis, but not dark enough for the summer sun.

Excellent sunglasses for hazy days.
by B-757 Pilot from Woodstock GA USA

Pros: Can easily see cockpit instruments.
Cons: Little too light on the tint for bright sunny days.
Review: Great for cutting through haze, but not quite dark enough for sunny days on top. That being said I would still purchase the product.

Sometimes you get what you pay for!
by Slotfish from olive branch MS USA

Pros: Meets or exceeds all expectations for design, function and price
Cons: none
Review: [Gunmetal Drivers Gradient]  I have owned and worn Serengeti glasses for decades and I purchased these Aviators as a gift for someone dear to me. I had high expectations. The quality and functionality of the Velocity Aviators was, therefore, no big surprise. These sunglasses are premium daily drivers. As for MyPilotStore.com, the product descriptions, ease of shopping and ordering, together with competive pricing are top notch. I spoke to a real person when I ordered and very much appreciated the attitude and advice. Thanks again.

Clear, precise, perfection!
by John(wolftalon) from Nampa ID USA

Pros: Perfect!
Cons: Cant sleep in them
Review: The amber tint is eye relief! The optical clarity is beautiful! The style is sexy! In fact so much so my helicopter let me fly better because it was pleased with me looking so hot!(its my fantasy so shhhhh)
Glass lenses are heavy, however once the nose pads are adjusted to fit, they are not to be beat!
Ps love the cleaning cloth these come with.

You can forget they are on, but know they are working
by Serious Driver Casual Flyer from Boston MA USA

Pros: Overall comfort and versatility
Cons: May need optician to fit perfectly
Review: I love these glasses for driving and flying. Unlike my last pair of Ray Ban polarized glasses, they are very comfortable under a headset and do not hinder the visibility inside the cockpit. The gradient is imperceptible, but makes seeing inside and outside easier. My only issue is that my eyelashes graze against the inside of the lens, but with professional fitting, that should be cured.

Excellent Sunglasses
by A Customer from Carmel IN USA

Pros: Excellent glare free vision in all lighting conditions
Cons: No discrepancies noted
Review: Excellent sunglasses. I wish I had known about them earlier. Well constructed, comfortable and they work very well. They cut out a lot of the blue wavelength in the natural light so there is basically no glare. At the same time they accentuate all other colors. The result is extremely crisp, clear vision. Allows you to see the details of your environment glare free. Works great in all lighting conditions from clear skies to overcast. I highly recommend these sunglasses. I purchased the drivers gradient.

Better than Ray Bans
by Stuart from United Kingdom

Pros: Very good lenses / light / strong frames
Cons: Case bulky
Review: The sunglasses are a definite improvement on other types of flying / driving glasses.

Not inexpensive but VG quality.

Polychromatic lens combined with the gradient are just fine for seeing your instruments.

I would definitely purchase these glasses in future

Need a few extra miles of visibilit?
by Ed from Roxbury CT USA

Pros: No issue reading my MFD or portable GPS
Cons: A little pricey
Review: When you put these glasses on it really seems to brighten everything up. I don't think these glasses are dark enough flying directly into the sun, but on hazy days and normal sunshine they work well and I can easily spot other aircraft. No issue reading charts either. Good fit, they stay on well. I only wish they were available as bifocals.

Good buy
by richard from glendale AZ USA

Pros: Very good visual contrast, light, stylish
Cons: arm bend behind the ear isn't long enough
Review: I've owned Serengeti sunglasses before, which was a primary reason for purchasing aother pair when I lost my last pair. The contrast in bad light conditions is very good, and the lack of polarization allows me to see well inside the cockpit, even glass cockpits. The glasses are light and comfortable. The only negative I have is the frames behind the ear. They are just a hair too short, creating a pressure point that over long periods of wear can be irritating.

Good Optics but on the heavy side
by John from Brandon MS USA

Review: Didn't expect them to weigh as much as they do. Side pieces are long and once fitted they don't fit into the case. Optics are great and sun glare is not an issue.

Great sunglasses as usual from Serengeti
by Sebastian from Henderson NV USA

Pros: comfortable, great view from behind the lenses
Cons: none
Review: I've worn nothing but Serengetis since college. This pair replaced the same style I had for 2 years and wore out. Last pair was black, which I preferred, but were more expensive this time. MyPilotStore had the best price as usual. Nonpolarized for use in aircraft is getting harder to find - of course I found them here!

Outstanding
by David from Tempe AZ USA

Pros: I have not found a better lens in 20+ years
Cons: Heavy lens/frame combination (but worth it in my opinion)
Review: The driver lens is still the best I have found for flying here in Arizona. I particularly like the extra wrap around coverage of this frame. The frame fits me well and is comfortable with my DC 10-30s.

Great Flying Glasses
by Lee from Mechanicsburg PA USA

Pros: Gradient tint, light weight, increased visibility in haze. Overall excellent quality
Cons: None for me
Review: The sharp clarity you would expect from Serenghetti. The gradient tint is excellent for reading the fine print marking on dials and switches while maintaining sufficient darkness in the upper portion to protect from the bright sun. The amber lenses improve visibility when in hazy conditions. Best all around glasses I've found and they are light weight too.

"Awesome buy for any level pilot!"
by Jim from Syracuse NY USA

Pros: Great Value, Good Gradient, Strong
Cons: None.
Review: These Sunglasses are the best pilot grade sunglasses I have purchased thus far. The frame is durable to stand up to the abuses it may take on the flight line. The Gradient tint perhaps is my most adored feature of this product. It allows me to see my charts easily while still blocking out the suns bright rays. It has even helped with my sight in cloudy, foggy, conditions.

Good glasses but could have more tint
by PropPilot from Birmingham, Al

Pros: Comfortable fit, light weight
