Review: There is no protection from accidental turn on while in a pocket, otherwise great, just keep a bunch of batteries around!

not practical by Praba from Minneapolis MN USA
Cons: bad design Review: The biggest issue is, its not user friendly. if I turned on the red light and used it for a while and now want to turn it off, I have to try one of the four switches till I get the right switch. as you can imagine, you cant see the color of the switches in the dark.

Big Light from Little Package by Jack from Waco TX USA
Pros: Durable, versatile Cons: Small size Review: This flashlight is mostly great. It's solid, sturdy, and durable - which is great for people who drop things all the time like I do. Having not only a good bright white light for exterior pre-flight checks but also the option for red, blue, or green for interior operations is incredibly handy. However, the small size can make it hard to get out of flight bag slots and a little tricky to use in the cockpit when you need to use the light and two hands. Other than that, this product is a pretty solid buy.

Not As Described and Overpriced by Robert from Brooklyn NY USA
Pros: Bright Cons: Buttons all same, no lanyard, too heavy, always gets turned on in bag Review: It's a powerful light for pre-flight. In flight you will blind yourself. You can't tell which button is which in the dark. It also does not come with the lanyard as shown, which is disappointing. If it did have the lanyard, it would be too heavy for around your neck anyhow. Finally, the buttons get pressed while in my flight bag everytime, leading to a dead battery when you need the light. Bottom line, the light is pretty much useless for actual use in yoru aircraft, which is the whoel point of buying it. And since it's vacuum packed, once you open the package and realize this, it's too late to return it under mypilotstores return policy. For the price, I'd rather have a $10 flashlight for inspections and a light little red light for another $10 hanging around my neck. Anyhow, it is a well built light, but it just isn't at all user frindly as billed, and for the price, it should be.

Nice piece of equipment by Matthew from Racine WI USA
Pros: Variable colors, proper intensity, sturdy design Cons: Difficult to determine which switch operates which color in the dark. Review: I am a student pilot with approximately 50 hours, and am currently working on my final cross-country flight and checkride prep. I ordered this light after completing my first dual night flight with just a medical pen light. I was very pleased with the performance of the light, and having a number of different colors to choose from made each phase of flight, from preflight to navigation, much safer. The light intensity is perfect for preserving night vision. The predrilled hole was perfect for attaching a lanyard, and hanging the light around my neck for easy access.

Don't Buy - False Advertising by Harold J. from The Woodlands TX USA
Pros: None Cons: Buyer Beware Review: This flashlight clearly implies that a purchaser will receive a string of some sorts to use to hold or wear the flashlight. All you get is the flashlight and a nice email saying mypilot will check into it.

Good product by A Customer from Santa Rosa CA USA
Review: Works very well. Would be nice if it had a way (bumps on the buttons) that you can tell the difference between the four color buttons in the dark. I've advertantly turned on white light (very bright) in the cockpit of the aircraft because it is difficult to tell which is which.

Extremely bright, needs some work though by ZACHARY from SAN DIEGO CA USA
Review: I purchased this product to keep in my flight bag. I needed white light for preflight, and green for NVG compatability (blue works as well). Then I also wanted red light for general night stuff. First impressions, it was very bright. Second, in my bag, if the light hits something, it will turn on, and my fear is that if i use this in the aircraft on NVG's and the white light comes on somehow, it will bloom out everyone's goggles (very bad). Mild solutions: after much thought as to how I could protect the buttons from coming on accidentally, I wrapped the light with black electrical tape on the top and bottom of the buttons. This way, it can be pressed on a flat surface and not come on. It still happens from time to time. Other problem: Cant tell which button is which at night. Especially with gloves on. Solution: I cut a "V" in the top of the frame directly above the white light button. Then carved an "X" in the green button. Those two are the most common that I use. So I can find the large V, and know that the green is to the right of it with an X. All in all, the light is very bright, but I'm not confident using it in the cockpit during flight. I think some simple revisions should be made to make it perfect.

Great product one flaw by Bryan from Tulsa OK USA
Review: Great flash light, hang around your neck and it lights up the whole cockpit. love the individual on/off buttons for each color. however if you just toss it in your bag it has a tendency to turn on by itself. Other than that it is a great light for flight.

Good, versatile light by Paul from Maryland
Pros: Bright, sturdy, includes red and green Cons: Blue? Who needs blue? Review: This is a really good light. It's nice and bright, the red and green lights preserve night vision while bringing out the different colors on charts. I found the lanyard to be big enough to fit around my head. While the buttons could use a redesign it is possible to figure out which is which. The button for the white light is rough, and if that's on top the red light is to the left. That still requires some fumbling around so if I'm going to need the light often I just leave it turned on.

Fantastic Light by Marc from South Pasadena CA USA
Pros: Bright, Sturdy, long lasting Review: I love this light. It has various colors to be able to read anything at night. For example, reading a map with shades of red is difficult with a red light so switch to green and it shows up perfectly. It's durable, light-weight, and lasts a long time.

Pros: compact size Cons: on/off button design Review: Buttons need to be recessed so that lights are not accidentally turned on while in flight bag.

Small, simple and does the trick by The Myth from Madera CA USA
Pros: Small, bright, less weight Cons: The on buttons a little small Review: Being a student helicopter pilot, a complete preflight inspection makes me feel more at ease. Great "light up" of engine compartment. Haven't flown at night yet to test the other colors.

Great for night flying, by A Customer from Wheaton IL USA
Review: The product is very good. The switch buttons could be a little bigger and a little different, change the shape of the switches to make it easier to know the buttons at night. They are a little hard to turn on and off with gloves on when you are doing a night walk around.

Good flashlight, but has drawbacks by Chris from Andersen AFB, Guam
Pros: Versatile, compact, bright, easy to switch b/n colors. Cons: Not very water resistant. Hard to distinguish buttons in dark. Review: Great flashlight due to compact size and LED 'bulbs.' However, hard to distinguish which buttons control the colors at night, particularly with gloves on. Don't turn on the white by accident at night in the cockpit! The exposed buttons can also turn the flashlight on by accident in your pocket or bag. Lastly, I got two uses out of it, then it got a little wet, now it doesn't work. I want something more weather proof. I can't open it up either w/out pliers on mine b/c the cap is so tight.

All the flashlight you will ever need. by A Customer from NSB, Florida
Pros: LED. Nuf said. Cons: Have not found one. Review: 4 colors to choose from, super bright, compact, uses less energy than a regular flashlight. This product is worth the money. I would buy this product again as gifts.

by Melvin Meadlin II from California City, CA
Pros: Light weight, only need one flashlight for four colors Cons: Small lanyard Review: I received this as a birthday present, and it is now a permanent fixture in my flight bag. The lanyard isn't quite long enough to fit over your head/around your neck, but it can easily be replaced by one that is. Each color can be used independently of the others, or more then one at once if necessary. The location of the buttons can be a minor annoyance if you have large hands, but it is minimal.
